Ate dinner here yesterday and had a fabulous experience. We wanted a delicious, reasonably-priced meal, with lots of variety and that is exactly what we got . We had Mixed Sashimi (admittedly the portion could have been bigger for £8), Tofu, Seaweed, Shitake roll, Green salad, Miso soup, and Daifuku mochi. All were delicious and of excellent quaity. How great to see a Japanese restaurant run by actual Japanese people. Authentically you can watch them preparing your meal. Try the Black Seasame Soya Drink (its Korean not Japanese, but creamy and delicious!). Staff were friendly and attentive, and helpful in dealing with a sticky table! Well worth the walk here from the Seafront, so glad we didn't eat at the unfriendly and rude Moshi Moshi restaurant by the Thistle hotel. We'll certainly be back to E-Kagen on our next visit to Brighton. 5 Stars.
