A community atmosphere, thriving gay bars with fantastic cabaret acts ..even if your not gay - you can still enjoy the atmosphere. Avoid if you are embarassed by the gay scene..Kemptown is also about local shopping and eateries, many pubs ( that are not gay ) near to Brighton Pier ..

Very happy about kemp town. An area for respect and joy. Great for nights out being gay or straight. Should be one in every city!

Overshadowed by the lovely Regency architecture. This quiet part of Brighton has it's very own charm and feels like a village. Lots of lovely antique shops and independent cafe's and restaurants. Worth taking a stroll away from the madness of Brighton beach.

ortcloud must've been still in swansea! Lovely seaside town with a villagey feel. Bohemian and quaint. The St Jame's Street end is a bit of an eye opener but Kemp Town gets lovelier as you move down towards historic Sussex Square.
