My adult daughter and I loved our fun afternoon on Brighton Pier. It's free to go on the pier, but you have to pay for the rides. You can purchase a ticket for one ride, or buy rides in bulk for a discounted price. We ate candy floss, rode on the merry go round, watched people scream with terror on the scarier rides and enjoyed the lovely sea and town views from the pier. It was great to see families enjoying themselves. From the pier, we could see the famous white cliffs in the distance and a great view of Brighton itself from both sides of the pier. We didn't go into the amusement arcade, but just enjoyed the walk along the whole length of the pier. We stopped in one of the pubs which was full of people watching an international rugby union game. The day was very cold and windy, but it made no difference to our enjoyment. We had a truly lovely afternoon on Brighton Pier.

A little disappointing to my taste.
The pier itself is gorgeous and historic and in surprisingly good nick, but there is just too much tat on it, and everything seemed v expensive too. Mobbed with tweens when we were there, but suppose that is the target audience.
Would prefer on a nice quiet day where you could sit and watch the world go by.

I'm not sure why I've heard all my life about Brighton Pier. There is nothing here but cheap games of chance and tacky food stalls.

If Piers are your thing, they don't come much better and much more of a money grabbing attraction than Brighton Pier. All the usual amusements - gaming arcades, fairground rides, bars, restaurants, tacky gift shops and best of all, free use of deck chairs! Wouldn't rush back unless it was with the grandkids but worth seeing once when in Brighton.

We were holidaying in the local area and decided to go to Brighton for the day.

The pier itself seems to be turnt into a tourism trap. Yes the pier is a lovely traditional wooden floored pier but there are lots of cafes/bars which seem expensive, shops selling the usual holiday tat, a large amusement arcade which was packed full of people playing arcade games or walking through to the end of the pier which made it become hot and stuffy.

The end of the pier is full of rides for people of all ages some look really scary!! but they cost so much money most are between four/five tokens each per person which I think is a bit steep especially for some families.

A nice walk to the end and take in the views but I won't be hurrying back.
