Only stayed overnight after a trip to the theatre but had a lovely welcome from host Kerry who was very attentive and helpful. Room was small but well decorated and the bed was soooo comfortable. Shower room again small but had everything you would need. Breakfast in lovely dining room was terrific with a very good choice and cooked to order so food came out piping hot. Scotch pancakes with maple syrup and scrummy crispy bacon highly recommended. Downside is Brighton itself which I think seems shabbier than I remember (a walk to the pier on Sunday morning revealed broken bottles, beer cans etc) although still very buzzy with many restaurants and bars to choose from. All in all though we enjoyed our stay and would certainly use Blanch House again.

Many thanks for your comments following your overnight theatre stay in Brighton in one of our cosy doubles. Really pleased to hear that you slept well and took the time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the morning. It’s an interesting point you raise regarding Brighton seeming shabbier than you remember and it would appear that the council have taken note and have recently launched a “Take it Home” campaign which hopefully will reduce the amount of unwanted litter. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Blanch House in the future.

Stayed here for one night in May and found the staff warm and welcoming and the room well appointed with comfortable beds. The location is walking distance from the centre of town but still peaceful and quiet at night and I would certainly recommend the cooked breakfast - great sausages!

We stayed for just the one night. The welcome was friendly and the staff were extremely helpful, obliging, attentive and polite without in any way being intrusive. The room was individual and slightly quirky, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everything in the room was to a high standard, down to the home made biscuits in the biscuit tin.

Cream tea in the afternoon was superb, cocktails excellent and the cooked breakfast (included in the price) absolutely outstanding.

It wasn't even particularly expensive. Not all that much more than a local Travelodge would have been for an awful lot more.

Blanch House is a very nice B&B in downtown Brighton near the Pier. On quiet street in residential area which was a perfect stop over on our English countryside tour. We were able to walk to restaurant (recommendation by staff) and to Royal Palace. Owner was sweet and accommodating and made great cocktails in upscale bar area. Breakfast next day was also lovely. Parking pass availble which was helpful as parking in Brighton is a bit difficult. Highly recommend for a trip to Brightron.

Room Tip: If straying for one night as for lower level room.

We held our civil partnership ceremony at the Brighton Pavilion and booked the hotel and all the bedrooms for our reception.
Kerry and the team were just brilliant, coping with guests who were jet-lagged, breakfasts that lasted for ever and a whole series of requests from our various guests, wedding planner, entertainers and cocktail suppliers.
The hotel is beautifully decorated, lovingly co-ordinated and the staff can't do enough for you. From breakfasts in bed, to ironing boards, late night cocktails and pizzas, and endless requests for water, tea, soft drinks, pens and countless other small things, they rose to the occasion with fortitude and good humour. The attention to detail was 1st class, flowers and champagne in our room, as was the insight into what would make the party go with a swing. As one of our more discerning guests said the canapés were the "best ever" and the buffet satisfied the English, Irish, American and African guests as well as the very vocal vegetarians.
We got very detailed quotes right from the start and when it came time to pay the bill there were no unpleasant surprises.
The whole experience was lovely from our early arrival on Thursday afternoon to the help with the packing of the presents in the car on Tuesday morning.
We will visit again

It was an absolute pleasure hosting your very special Civil Partnership celebration at Blanch House from the moment you arrived until the time you departed. We were so pleased that the entire event met with your expectations. The hotel was definitely alive with all your guests, the entertainment which created a wonderful atmosphere throughout Friday and Saturday. We very much look forward to you visiting us again soon. Meanwhile, all of us here at Blanch House send you both our very best wishes.
