“Didn't want to leave!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2014

Was taken here by my other half as a surprise weekend away, he couldn't have picked a nicer place. Slight walk out of the very centre of the sea side town area but we found this a blessing as it was so peaceful. However, literally a 5-10 minute walk and your in the shops, restaurants and the sea. Also, really close to the pier!
We had the superior en-suite room which had so many little touches to make it special. Aromatherapy kits, drinks, sweets, jacuzzi bath, chaise lounge and king size bed. Absolutely lovely!
Then there was the breakfast. I would go as far as to say that this is the best breakfast I have had in any hotel or B&B. Everything was hot, home made and tasted amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for you during either, topping up the coffee and tea whenever you needed it.
As stated in the title I really did not want to leave!

Room Tip: Superior en-suite well worth the extra money

I loved staying at the Oriental, not only because everything had a caring detail for the guesses but also because of their organic choices for the delicious breakfast, and, mostly, the kindness of Lola and all the personnel. In my view, when people (such as at the Oriental) are in the business for quite a while, guesses are treated as people and not just as a wallet, making the experience to remember instead to forget (as sadly often happens).
I will definitively come back.

We stayed at the Oriental for one night, last minute decision to go to Brighton. It is a great place. The staff and owners are wonderful, they could not be more helpful. We were early and were greeted when we arrived by the manager, our room was nearly ready and they made us a cup of tea /coffee while we sat and chatted. It is bright and quirky and a good location for beach, town, restaurants and cafés etc. The room was quiet, warm and comfortable. We usually stay in hotels but this was so much better. It was like being a houseguest, you can come and go as you please or just sit and relax. The manager had great knowledge of the area and provided us with information and a map so we could make the most of our short visit. Breakfast was great and the tea and coffee perfect (not always the case in hotels we have visited). If you want and a warm welcome and a great stay in comfortable attractive surroundings give it a try.
We parked our car at Regency Secure parking, 1 Regency Mews BN1 2HF. This is a small car park, inexpensive and the owner called the Oriental when we arrived to check they were there and we could drop off our luggage. It is a small car park and is locked overnight so you will have to book in busy season and cannot access your car 24/7 but the owner is great and it is easy to find and a short walk to the Oriental.

We arrived at this hotel for a hurricane-force strength winds weekend in Brighton and a combination of catching up with family, shopping, dining and being blown around by the wind. The staff are absolutely lovely, attentive, helpful, natural and professional. The place is what it says on the label. Tastefully decorated rooms, nice shower, warm, clean; perhaps a bit small but bigger than other similar places we have stayed in Brighton. By the reception, there is an upbeat breakfast / cocktails area with art on the walls and many feel good features. Breakfast was great by the way, real coffee on tap, fresh fruit and yogurt and a nice fry up served promptly with a smile. The location is fine, a few yards from the sea, just a short walk to the shops and strategically near by some key pubs, restaurants and cafés. A boutique hotel worth a stay... or more.

What a great little place. All the staff were so friendly, the place itself was so aesthetically pleasing, the music playing was like listening to my own ipod and the small touches that made it great (L'Occitane toiletries and an oil burner with oils to burn - this was what one me over) and the most comfy bed and duvet. Breakfasts so fresh and large that you feel absolutely spoilt. Did I mention how fresh the food was and cocktails to die for. Truly, a little gem and we'll be back. Thanks!

We only spent one night but were welcomed and treated like old returning friends. Jarvis thinks of everything and goes well out of his way to make your stay a pleasant one. Breakfast was exceptional with good quality produce. Our two dogs were also happy with their stay along with good directions as to where they could walk again supplied by Jarvis. There is no where else that we would rather stay than The Oriental, we will be back.

Room Tip: Room 8 was very nice with a big shower.

We had a great time in Brighton and The Oriental Hotel was perfect for us... the room was really comfortable, clean and well equipped. The standard was such that I would have expected/been happy to pay much than we did for the room... great value. The service was impeccable - the staff were so friendly and helpful and to top it off breakfast was superb - both greatly needed and appreciated!
