Stayed at this hotel for two nights in rainy ocotber, no better place to hibernate in! We stayed in a superior double room, the bed was so comfy we didnt want to leave it, and the whirlpool bath was just divine! Had breakfast in bed one of the days which was luxurious and no trouble, bought up in two stages so nothing got cold. The breakfast was impeccable catering very well for my dairy free diet and anybody who is vegetarianor vegan. The manager called me the day before we arrived to check all details which i felt was a very good personal touch - when we arrived he had just coe back from waitrose with bags of soya yoghurt and champagne so very personal feeling. Also only a stones throw away from the lanes, great location.Would go back in an instant :)

Room Tip: Would definitley fork out a bit more for the superior room although i didnt see the other rooms to c...

First time visit to Brighton and had a great couple of days. The Oriental is a great hotel in a good location. We would echo the previous comments about Andrew - he couldn't have been more helpfull, and the breakfasts, which were amazing. The room we had was large, bright and clean with good facilities. We wouldn't hesitate to go back if we visit Brighton again.

We spent a weekend in Brighton and re-visited The Oriental - where we had stayed about seven years before, pre-children! Although the owner has changed it's still a great place to stay - maybe even better! The room was very comfortable (although the bathroom could have done with a little tlc) and felt really cosy on a rainy night in Brighton. Nice touches with bottled water and glasses, plentuful tea and coffee and l'Occitaine smellies. The breakfast was really good, fresh and filling. What really made our stay special was Andrew - the manager - really friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The only thing that really stops us from giving the Oriental 5 stars is the bathroom issues and these could be resolved with a new tube of mastic and some new tiles in places! It's very clean but has been well used and just needs a freshen up.

We were made really welcome at the Oriental as were our dogs. The breakfast is great and the staff are very warm and helpful. Lovely shower too. Our room was a wee bit small for 2 men and 2 terriers and location wise personally I ptefer the Kemp Town side. But would not hesitate to return with the dogs.

My wife and I spent the weekend celebrating her birthday in Brighton, which is a really fun town.
The Oriental only added to this fantastic experience. Andrew and his team were excellent hosts, our room(on the first floor at the front) was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was well cooked and very filling(really set you up for the day).
Overall, it surpassed our expectations, and happily recommend this fantastic boutique hotel.
