Stayed in The Old Ship for 2 nights. Because of where it is situated there is access to local amenities at your door step.
We enjoyed a lovely walk up and down the promenade and went to the pier and sea life centre. Unfortunately we had a heavy downpoor so resided in the bar area from about 2pm. The hotel itself was lovely and service from staff was spot on. Friendly atmosphere and staff always checked you were ok. Drinks were reasonable and what you would expect of a hotel in a high tourism area. We also had 3 course dinner included in our stay which was impeccable , you were also able to have lunch there too. Breakfast was a standard continental, on our second morning we did have to wait for it to be topped up in some areas but it wasn't a huge waiting time.
Moving on to the room.....it was smaller than the picture however the bed was very comfortable. The only downside was due to it being an old building of course double glazing wasn't an option back in the day so during the night the traffic on the road did wake me up. It didn't help one night there was about 5 police cars due to a fight that happened. So sirens and flashing lights could still be seen and heard through windows and curtains.
Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend.More
