“Would certainly stay here again.”
Reviewed May 5, 2012

Having read some of the negative reviews I was a little apprehensive but we were very happy with this hotel. We had secured a very good price with Booking.com and thought it was excellent value. OK, there is a slight air of shabbiness about the place and the rather odd wickerwork furniture wasn't to our taste but our room had everything we needed - plenty of wardrobe and storage space, large bathroom with good range of toiletries and very efficient shower and fast-filling bath. We had a grim view over fire escapes but that did mean that it was quiet at night. The breakfast buffet was really good with a huge choice and it was pleasant to eat by the window looking at the sea. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the location is very central.

Me and 6 others came to Brighton for a 3 day break and stayed in this hotel for 3days and 2 nights. Check-in time was 2pm so we left our bags with the receptionist and went shopping. We returned at 5pm and got our 4 rooms, all on the same floor not far from each other. The rooms were absolutely spotless and were quite big- The big size you would expect for a four star hotel. There was plenty of room and had all the facilities you would expect- hairdryer, iron, towels, toiletries etc. There were plenty of mirrors around as well.
Everything worked properly- the shower and bath with hot water, toilet, widescreen TV with plenty of channels etc. None of us had any problems at all, apart from the fact that you could hear people on the seafront slightly in the night when they had finished clubbing. However, that isn't the hotels fault.
When we returned from clubbing at about 4am, we rung the doorbell and someone came to answer straight away, we were never left outside. Two of my friends even managed to get free hot chocolate by the kind, friendly staff but we had already gone to bed by the time they got back.
Breakfast is 7-10pm every morning downstairs in the breakfast area. It was honestly the best breakfast ever. You could choose between any of the fry ups which included things like fried/ scrambled eggs, bacon, spuds, mushrooms, tomatoes, sausages etc, or there was a continental section with endless amounts of different fruit as well as a selection of biscuits, cakes, doughnuts and cereal etc.
There was also a choice of hot and cold drinks such as apple juice, orange juice, cranberry, tomato juice, water etc.
There was a selection of teas, such as flavored one, green tea, herbal tea etc. A really friendly, lovely woman called Wesley came round to our tables each morning with a big smile and had general chats with us about our stay and helped us with the best places in Brighton etc.
All of the staff here were amazing as they had the best customer service possible. It was a very good job I didn't read some of the reviews on here before we booked, otherwise we may have been out off. So glad we didn't though.
Brighton on the whole is a lovely place and we will definitely e back to stay in this hotel again. Not a bad word to be said about it.

Room Tip: The quieter rooms are at the back of the hotel as the ones facing the sea front are noisier because...
