Description: Located just a short walk from Seven Dials, the Chimney House offers something for everyone from a cup of tea and a slice of cake, pint of Harveys, glass of prosecco, dirty little burger or a relaxed three course meal. We strive to source our ingredients from within Sussex with fish from Shoreham and Newhaven, fruit and vegetables from local farms and glasshouses as well as meat from Garlic Wood Farm. We are open all day Tuesday to Sunday and look forward to seeing you even if its just for a jar of chutney.

“Simply the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014

Kiwis on holiday and have tried a few in the brighton area over 5weeks. This is the best Sunday roast by a mile. Have been the last 2 Sundays and both times superb. Great staff, food and ambience. Good value. Sorry we didn't find it earlier

“Awesome quirky spot for a bite to eat”

Quirky pub that has a super menu and simply delicious range of deserts - the rhubarb crumble was out of this world!

“Good food, shame it was quiet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014 via mobile

Came in for a quick dinner with a mate. Steak frites with slow cooked garlic was the dish that caught my eye. My steak was perfectly cooked, chips were delicious. Washed down with half a bottle of red. Good local gastropub, shame it wasn't busier when I went.

“"Welcoming & Wonderful"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

I love to visit Brighton but the food can sometimes be a let down, there is such a glut of venues vying after the same customers that it becomes hard to stand out, Prices are kept low by competition and i feel for the restauranteur who has to make ends meet in such an environment - The Chimney House was a wonderful brake from the clutter of the city center and provided excellent and well presented dishes in a friendly and suitably artistic surrounding.
It became such a fad to have boards on display extolling the virtues of local seasonal and foraging foods but when it shines through on the menu and is handled well on the plate it is much more than just hyperbole its a great way to eat. There is an obvious skill in the cooking and a well crafted menu to fit the limits of the tiny kitchen that is on full display. I rarely get chance to eat a Sunday roast as i am usually cooking them for others but it was great to be reminded what an indulgent pleasure they can be and at such good value it doesn't have to be a luxury. I highly recommend a visit and look forward to trying there dinner menu at another time.

“Without question, the best Sunday Roast.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

And I do not mix my words, having been to so so many pubs and restaurants over the years looking for a great Sunday Roast, this is by far the best of all.. So far I've taken three sets of friends to the Chimney this year who have come to visit us in Brighton and it is remarkable.

By the best in ALL of Brighton, and possibly the best I've had..
