Popped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly suprised after a bad experience in Portsmouth.
This restaurant is in a lovely location overlooking the Marina. I had the chicken caesar salad which was very nice. my son had the chargrilled chicken baguette and enjoyed it. Portion sizes were generous and the service was good. Overall good value for money. My only disappointment is that they no longer take the 'Tastecard' but I understand that this may no longer be possible due to the economic climate.

We visited this restaurant on the evening of 19 February after the cinema. We were greeted by a friendly waiter as we went in and we chatted about the cinema and weather before choosing our table. Throughout the evening we were served by this waiter, and a waitress who was also friendly. The wine was good and we did not have to wait too long for our delicious main course. The waitress came over to check that we were satisfied with our meal after we had started. A reasonable gap was left before we were served our dessert. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing and airy, the high ceilings mean it is not too noisy even as it filled up during the evening(good for people with hearing impairment). We had been here on one occasion previously with our daughter and her partner and had received the same service, so this experience was not a one-of. We will certainly return to this restaurant. It is worth registering with cafe rouge as we had a 40% off food voucher emailed to us, which makes the bill even more reasonable, especially if you are a pensioner! We enjoyed the food, but it was the attitude of the waiter and waitress which really made the evening special for us.

5 of us for a late lunch. Starters all good with one exception, lobster soup, was just a bit too rich. Camembert, prawns and terrine all were fine. Mains of steaks, chicken and bouillabaisse were good with the latter being really very good. One bottle of wine and two soft drinks. With a 40% off voucher and a 10% tip the cost was £90 - decent value with good service.

Turned up on the off chance they might have a table for Valentine's Day and we were in luck. We both went for their three course special, and ordered drinks and waited, and waited, and eventually asked again and they arrived promptly. It was the only blemish on what was a lovely night. Genuinely French staff, genuinely good food and an excellent atmosphere which guaranteed a convivial evening. Not cheap, but having said that more than half the bill was on drinks of which we had quite a few so you have the control over this. There was a good a la' carte selection and there always seem to be special combined menus available. Save this for a special night out, and you won't be disappointed. Recommended. Oh we went at night, but during the day the views over the harbour must be wonderful, we must go back!
