The room contained a detailed and humorous guide to life in Brighton, which was very helpful in planning where to go to eat/drink/shop.
Staff at the hotel were friendly, and the room was spacious and clean. The water pressure in the shower wasn't the best, and the sink took a while to drain, but generally the ensuite bathroom was fine.
More importantly, there were no musty smells.

The location in Kemp Town means that you are only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Brighton, but there are plenty of interesting cafes, bars and restaurants around the corner from this hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 7, a small ensuite which had plenty of room for all our gear.

I stayed in Paskins Town House for a conference at the University of Sussex. The staff were absolutely delightful and friendly, and the room was cozy with really nice bath supplies and an apple, tea, and bottle of water. The best part, though, was the wonderful breakfast. One morning I had organic duck eggs, and the next I had smoked salmon with creamy scrambled eggs; there was also always delicious housemade marmalade with plenty of toast, in addition to coffee, tea, yogurt, and juice. Paskins is a block from the seaside and about 10 minutes walk from the National Express stop, and a cab to the train station cost around 6 GBP. There are also multiple buses close by, as well as the excellent Sidewinder pub. Highly recommended, and made my first trip to Brighton a sweet experience; I can't wait to come back! Thank you so much, Paskins!

Chose the Paskins Town House for convenient location (15mins walk to the Lanes), with cheap parking (£7.50 for 24hr with a voucher from the hotel), and based on the previous glowing reviews. My husband was working for two days in Brighton, and I tagged along for the shopping, so we booked the cheapest double room (compact with shared bathroom) as we only had overnight bags. Very kindly, the host Katerina upgraded us (we didn't ask) to an en suite as they were not busy. We were in Room 7 at the back of the house which was very quiet, compact but very well laid out and with lovely decor. The bathroom was modern and spotless and off an internal lobby so not in the room itself. The shower wasn't the most powerful but was fine and there was plenty of hot water and super soft towels. Bed was really comfy and I slept very well. As per other reviews, the breakfast was fantastic. A choice of teas and juices, fruit (fresh and dried), cereals and a huge menu of cooked food including fish dishes. Amazing value - even without the breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel and it would be my first choice in Brighton again.

Room Tip: Room 7 - small but perfect for short stay, back of the house so super quiet

I love this place and have stayed a few times whilst exploring Brighton and house hunting. We were upgraded the first time we booked to a lovely room with a four poster bed.

There is a really good choice at breakfast - great for vegetarians like me and also for meat eaters.

There are quite a few restaurants nearby or it is simple to walk or catch a bus into the centre of Brighton.

A very warm welcome when we arrived from attentive, but not in your face, staff. The location of this hotel is perfect - walking distance to the town and the seafront. Double room we stayed in was fine, a bit on the neat side and the ensuite had an annoying fan that stayed on for ages after you'd come out of the bathroom. We spent a couple of nights there in September and our stay was satisfactory. Comfortable beds but rubbish pillows - like cotton wool! Lovely toiletries in the bathroom., Nice touch with the bottles of water and fruit rather than the usual tea/coffee and biscuits tray. The breakfast though was special, and as other reviewers have said this was AMAZING. Chef makes some very tasty veggie options, The breakfast defiinitely mitigated the things we weren't so happy about. Would we stay again? Maybe but I'd want different pillows and a bigger room.

7.5/10...

Good things
- Location, right by the sea and near the town
- AMAZING breakfasts
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Very comfy beds
- Very clean
- Nicely decorated

Not so good things
- Twin room smaller than expected for 2 people
- TV unwatchable...the size of a post it note...why SO small?!
- Old ceilings, got woken up by the people above us walking around their bedroom
- A door/service bell that practically reverberates through your soul when it rings it's so loud

Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend :)
