Not cheap. Fine to wander around looking at the sea life. Obviously fascinating for small children - as there were plenty there - but also a large party of French teenagers. Small cafe selling drinks and pre-pcked food. Large souvenir shop selling mostly stuffed toys.

I love the aquarium and love the sealife centre in London. This one was much smaller and would be great for kids but for me it just wasn't as good as the others I've been to.

Absolutely awful. We spent a fortune on line for admissions and expected to keep the grandchildren amused all day, for the money. They were bored stiff in 10 minutes, and so were we. There are a few bored looking fish swimming about with no real educational theme to excite the imagination. A scruffy cafe selling motorway sandwiches. A dreary shop full of tat. And to cap it all, a hall full of slot machines. Just the stuff for a kids day out. Oh, and if you are disabled or pushing buggies about, forget it - stairs everywhere. Frankly, Brighton should be ashamed to be hosting this rip off. If it were a zoo, it would be closed down.

We’re really sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your visit. Our average dwell time is over 2 hours so we’re a little surprised to hear that your grandchildren were bored within 10 minutes. We have over 50 displays, quiz trail, conservation awareness, talks, feeds, interactive rockpool experience, a glass bottom boat trip, a Behind The Scenes tour and much, much more. Please feel free to contact the General Manager on slcbrighton@merlinentertainments.biz and he will be happy to resolve any further comments you have.

Could do with more value for £££. £28.20 for 2 adults seems a bit of a rip off.

Not really much to see there, if they put more in the £28.20 wouldn't seem so bad or the £28.20 included the tours.

Recently visited with family. It was during school holidays so very busy. They weren't handling the que very quickly even though we had pre-paid tickets. The tanks were all good quality, some interesting animals. Generally the aquarium is looking OK, it's very old so don't expect a modern fresh feel, but it has it's charm.

Although pre-paid tickets include the benefit of fast track entry, on rare occasion when we meet capacity, we have to operate a slower, phased entry to ensure we are meeting capacity requirements and do not become over-crowded. I’m pleased that you could see the charm in the architecture, we’re proud of being the oldest aquarium in the world.
