Thought the restaurant looked great from outside. There was a sign outside advertising a two course lunch for £8.95, we went into the restaurant and were given a couple of menus and a wine list but nothing for the lunch £8.95 special, when we asked for it we were told it was Bank Holiday Monday, eventually the menu arrived. I ordered the fish chowder, the tuna was very chewy, my sister ordered a prawn salad which had too much dressing on. When the waiter cleared our plates away I said the the fish was very chewy and he replied "it was to flavour the soup"!! We then had mussels and again they were very disappointing - overcooked.
Again we told the waiter we were less than happy with the meal. He offered no apology at all. When my sister paid the bill, she asked for the 10% service charge to be removed. His reaction was surly. We won't be going back again.

Chose this restaurant as it seemed to be the only one along the marina that isn't a chain. There was a Frankie & Bennys, Nandos, Cafe Rouge etc. We were expecting a really good seafood/fish experience. First of all the wrong wine was brought to the table so we sorted that out. Next 3 of us ordered mussels to start and when they were brought to the table 2 of the bowls had hardly any open mussels. They didn't feel very warm so maybe weren't cooked enough or just not good. We sent them back via a waitress who didn't react as if this was a problem at all ie. the fact that unopened mussels had left the kitchen in the first place. The other 2 finished their starters before the replacement mussels arrived (not sure how keen were to go again by then with thoughts of shellfish poisoning and confidence in the kitchen undermined). Anyway we obviously ate our starters at different times which defeats going out for a meal together to some degree. Replacement mussels were OK but only OK. Main courses were very average. I had a seafood pasta dish which was bland and a mixed salad which looked like it was chopped by a blind man with a machete then dropped from a great height onto the plate. It was also very tasteless and not at all fresh and zingy.

There's a notice in the restaurant blue tacked to a pillar (classy touch) which says something to the effect of "if you have a problem with your order please tell a member of staff etc...". Never seen that before in a restaurant. I hope this restaurant bucks itself up or it will probably just be replaced with yet another chain restaurant.

I think overall staff need to remember that when people choose to eat out, we are giving ourselves a night off from cooking and chasing around and spending our hard earned cash. Dodgy looking mussels should never have even arrived at the table.

10% service was automatically added to the bill and we asked to have this taken off. The waitress said I will ask my colleague then came back and told us this would be OK!

The restaurant is in a nice position and looked upmarket, apart from the worrying blue tacked notice, but it didn't deliver on service or quality.

What a perfect gem at Brighton Marina, amongst all the chain restaurants! Fabulous service, the best fish stew I have ever eaten (and that was just the starter!) and fabulous posh fish and chips. Lovely crisp white table cloths on the tables and dreamy jazz music playing in the background. Our waiter was a delight and the wine was perfectly chilled and just gorgeous! Such a lovely ambient place and we will defintely be back with family, friends.... or just the two of us! Very classy - and not extortionate in price at all!

Dined here Sunday 28th April, food was lovely, service was fair but the restaurant lacked atmosphere, although this could have been because it was around 9pm on a sunday evening. The lobster was amazing and the venue itself is really nice, with a fantastic location on the marina.
