Description: Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence award for the last 4 years running. The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phuket's beach bars and Bangkok's most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabai's freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

When I read a review that says "ones of the best Thai meals I've had in the" I usually think yeah yeah. However this is one of the best Thai meals I've had outside of Thailand.mthe Penang beef curry extra hot was great. Even the crackers were yummy as not greasy as often are in most Thai restaurants here.

For the second Christmas Eve we decided to dine at this restaurant.
The staff are efficient (cocktails take ages though) and smiley and the atmosphere is cheerful yet relaxing.
The food is the star here.... As I have said before the chefs are talented and it has to be some of the best Thai food I have ever eaten.
My only issue this time is we were sat on the low floor tables at the back which is not comfortable at all. Eating o the floor cross legged for a larger person is not easy at all.
I will be sure to request a table next time in the main seating area.

Enjoyed lunch here today with a friend.
Lovely warm welcome, prompt drink orders taken.
The interior is beautifully decorated with tranquil water feature, rattan style chairs and rich colours.
I ordered the chicken satay to start which was amazing- really tender chicken with a nice side salad. My only complaint is there could have been another skewer, it was so nice!
The main course was a thai green curry. Loved the ornate chopped vegetables and wonderful sauce. Just wonderful. Can't wait to return!

The Sabai Thai Gastrobar in Brighton is well worth including in any list of places to eat out in Brighton. In a good position and with plenty of parking available not far away in the Lanes underground car park it is one of the easier restaurants to access.

We were warmly greeted by one of the Thai staff and shown to out table. At all times the staff were attentive, friendly and smiling. The decor is very good with a real Thai feel to it.

The menu has plenty of options and is taken from all the various regions of Thailand and there should be something for everyone. As in all Thai in UK if you want it spicy it is worth letting them know when you order. The food was very good quality and very authentic, which is clearly something they strive for.

The wine list was good and reasonably priced which was a nice surprise.

All in all a very enjoyable experience

This has become our restaurant of choice and we visit them nearly every month and the menu still teases our taste buds every time. So if you are truly looking for a Thai restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff then visit Sabai Thai. I normally put my favorite dishes on a review, but I can't choose. Weeping tiger, Thai spicy sausage, dumplings, satay, pork skewer, whole sea bass and on and on I could go.
