Description: Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence award for the last 4 years running. The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phuket's beach bars and Bangkok's most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabai's freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

Ate here on Friday whilst staying in Brighton, made reservation easily via email. Restaurant easy to find just off main road, on entering decor very inviting and staff very friendly.

Ordered mixed starters which were delicious especially the crispy noodles, also had 2 mojitos including 1 of their special chilli ones which was fiery but wonderful

Mains were yummy too and service very quick a little too quick for me as in and out with starters and mains in an hour but that didn't detract was really pleased picked here

I visited Sabai last night with my girlfriend after reading reviews on here. We don't eat a lot of Thai food, however after trying the dishes here, we will definitely be having more Thai food in future. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of the dishes I had but it was spicy sausages for starter then a duck red curry for main. Both were delicious and a nice level of spice. I wouldn't advise these dishes if you don't normally eat spicy food though! Service was a little slow and I felt a little bit guilty interrupting the staff's dinner to get the bill. But, that said, all were polite and gave good advice on the food. Thoroughly recommend.

We reserved a table for 7 on a sunday eve and did a reccy before it seemed empty and we nearly didn't go but are glad we did...the cocktails hit the spot ( chilli mojhitos) had mixed starter two curries and rice all perfect full of flavour and wonderful. Staff were very attentive friendly and coudn't do enough for us. Despite it being sunday it was half full but the atmosphere was great , helped by the contemporary and stylish decor. Clean loos lovely prawn crackers and only £45 for 2 a right bargain!
