Description: Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence award for the last 4 years running. The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phuket's beach bars and Bangkok's most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabai's freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2012 via mobile

Visited Brighton for a short break and saw numerous Thai restaurants around the town centre. Using trip advisor found this little gem with great reviews already from previous visitors. As it was a Tuesday we didn't think we'd need to book however we were lucky to get a table as we arrived at the right time. Would suggest booking in advance whatever the day!! Although it was quite busy it added to the atmosphere as opposed to making it feel cramped or overcrowded. The food is amazing, full of flavour and very authentic taste. There is a huge amount of choice on the menu!! Also very good value for money. The service is second to none and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone without any hesitation

“Best Thai outside of Thailand”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

Definately need to book a table as very popular. The food was amazing, definately the best Thai food we have had. Pad Thai to die for and my Sea Bass was cooked to perfection. Yummy, wish they would open up in London

“Amazing thai food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

Went to Sabai with two friends when we visited Brighton. we decided to go here for a quick lunch.. the food was absolute perfection. I had thai green tofu curry. my friends had red curry and green curry as well. I love thai green curry and I love tofu.. was cooked absolutely perfectly. Lovely fresh flavor.. you can tell its not just come out of a jar. I love as well, how, each different curry gives you the option of having it made with chicken beef or tofu... or was it chicken prawns or tofu? cant remember.. but as a veggie, I loved having the tofu or quorn option for each dish :)

The decor was modern and fresh, atmosphere very relaxing, a lovely place to have lunch. Not busy at all, which was a shame for them cos they deserved more business however it was nice to have a quiet peaceful place to eat in. Nice and cool inside, which was very refreshing considering how hot it was outside.

There was a seating area where you can take off your shoes and just sit on cushions on the floor.. very zen! we didnt sit there though but it looked nice, and they had a very interesting water display.

The restaurant feels very authentic with Asian staff working there, who were extremely friendly, and very eager to serve. Food and drinks were brought out quite quickly, altho it wasnt very busy at all. which is a shame, cos this place is an absolute gem but dont think many people know about it, it was hidden away a little bit, at the end of the street.

Another thing to mention is it is quite a small place, which makes it much easier for staff to attend to you personally. Rather than some large chain restaurants, where you can feel ignored some of the time. So that was a nice touch too :)

Once again, staff very friendly, and happy to serve, and gave us parting pleasantries as we left, which left us with a great feeling for the rest of the afternoon. Would reccommend this place it anyone.

“Superb Thai”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

Being married to a Thai food super fan, I have had Thai food all over the world and this is up there amongst the best.

Great value food mixed with a cosy atmosphere, superb service and nicely spaced tables.

Massive king prawns too, highly recommended!
