Description: Located on the Kings Road in Brighton, Bar Aguadulce is a bright and buzzy spot popular with locals and day-trippers from the capital who all love the down-to-earth atmosphere and authentic Spanish menu. Serving everything from tapas to fresh fish and homemade puddings, Bar Aguadulce is a good spot for get-togethers and after-work drinks-and-dinner dates. The restaurant has homely, um-pretentious and informal, with a very chilled vibe and the service is friendly. Strongly recommended are the Paellas and Rice dishes of which they are absolute specialists. Pop in for a glass of Sherry from their extensive selection, have it with a little tapa, or for a Schooner of the best Spanish beer imported in to the UK. Another feature worth mentioning is their menu which can be entirely prepared in a CELIAC friendly way. Gluten-free beers are also available and their gluten-free bread is baked in house by the Head Chef.

“Lovely Spanish Food”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

We went here for a meal mid-week. The food was excellent and the service prompt. I ordered 3 tapas dishes for myself which was plenty for 1 person. I would say if there was 2 people you would need about 5 tapas dishes between you as a main meal. The restaurant is just off the main road which runs along the sea front. Definitely would recommend and visit again.

“A great shared meal”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

Five of us piled in with a wide range of dishes to fill the table. Our vegetarian was very pleased with her dishes and the suckling pig was amazing. The food tasted like good Spanish home cooking and the service was prompt and friendly. The final home produced fruit based complimentary drink rounded off an excellent meal, just off the sea front in Brighton.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

We went here for my birthday (4 girls), and had a brilliant meal. The staff were really attentive and the food was delicious!

I can definitely recommend this place if you want good spanish food and good service, it's not the swankiest place to eat but it's definitely worth a visit!

“Not quite as good as we'd hoped”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Have been here twice. Once for a romantic meal out on a weekday when the restaurant was quite quiet & lacked atmosphere & the other as part of a group on a weekend were it more lively. Food was nice & service was good. Food is reasonably priced too. From all the good reviews I was just expected a bit more.

thanks for your custom on two ocasions and i hope you will return soon...dont really know what else to do apart from giving good food and good service although i do understand that sometimes during the week if there r few tables the atmosphere is less but if you come again on a week day i promise to sing or dance or both for you while you enjoy my food..gracias

“Fun but decor is a little lacking”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

This is a fun and friendly restaurant, with a real 70s feel to it. There was a little wait for our table, and service is slow just because it is so busy, perhaps a victim of its own success. The tables are very close to each other but we expected this is a popular tapas bar. The wine we choice Rioja Crianza was excellent, and well priced. Our tapas arrived quickly after ordering we had: cheese and meats, prawns in garlic, spanish omlette (excellent), beans with ham, fresh anchovies and the obligatory Padrón Peppers - all where well cooked and tasty. We even stopped for dessert which I had a spanish style tart with ice cream. The food was good, the decor to be honest a little drab, perhaps some authentic plates or tiles - something to link it all together would lift the whole experience, it isnt exactly cheap so to charge these prices a bit more pizzaz is needed. For the record our waitress was hard working and polite.

thanks for ur kind words..overall i think you enjoyed it..as for the decor which has been mentioned before well again i say my wife chose it so i want a quiet life..however i do like it aswell...personally i think hanging plates or tiles really would be 70s style..as for my prices well they are based on high quality produce and ive been to many restaurants in brighton and i think they are very competitive
