“Good value Malay/Indonesian food”
Reviewed February 17, 2011

Went with six friends for a meal on a Wednesday night. Quite a small menu of basic street food which I see as a good thing as all the food should be fresh cooked. A good blend of spices with all of the dishes tasting different but complimentary. Also a small but good range of wine which was refreshingly inexpensive for a change....

“Lovely fresh tasty food and friendly service - highly recommended!”
Reviewed February 15, 2011

Fantastic! Lovely, attentive and friendly staff who offered advice on all the dishes and how to get the best out of our Indonesian meal. We choose Warung Tujuh because of the great reviews and because we honeymooned in Bali and wanted to taste the gorgeous food again. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious and authentic (the chef that night was Balinese, the other is apparently Sumatran), all the ingredients tasted wonderfully fresh and the price was very reasonable too! The pandan flavoured green (yes, green!) pancakes for dessert are well worth a try - gorgeous, as long as you like coconut!

Highly recommended!

“One of our Brighton favourites”
Reviewed February 3, 2011

We stumbled on Warung Tujuh just after it opened and have been back 4 times now (and also had a few takeaways). Yes, the downstairs is cramped, and you do find yourself very close to your fellow diners, but the food more than compensates.

Delicious satays and delectable curries with quality ingredients and a truly authentic taste. I can honestly say it's the best Indonesian meal I've had outside of Indonesia! Quality has always been consistent and their lunch menu is an absolute bargain!

What can I say - we love it!

“Great Indonesian food - but could be a bit more spicy”
Reviewed January 2, 2011

This is a great restaurant which my husband and I found a while ago. We have been there several times for lunch. It's excellent value for money. The food is good, very authentic and the service is attentive. However the chef could use more chili to spice the dishes up a bit. I am happy this restaurant seems to have established itself finally.

“Excellent value lunch just couple of minutes from Brighton pier”
Reviewed December 27, 2010

Was on a visit to Brighton, and saw the good reviews for Warung Tujah, so decided to visit for lunch, after a walk along the pier. We love Brighton pier, but the prices for food and drink is crazy, so always like to try different places nearby to eat.
It was Monday lunchtime, so we had the place to ourselves, and found all the rice and noodle dishes to be really nice, and some interesting starters on the set lunch menu too, which was only £6 per head for 2 courses. Well worth a visit, and an convenient location if you are on a tourist visit to Brighton.
