“Great food, service and value”
Reviewed August 13, 2010

Visited on a cold and wet Tuesday lunchtime and had a marvellous time, despite a pneumatic drill outside! This could be barely heard when inside the tiny downstairs seating area, which is very attractively decorated. Had a lovely meal of two courses for £6.00 - could have had three for £8.00, but had no room left. Starters were two chicken satays and mains nasi goreng and mi goreng; the mains spiced hotter as requested. Both courses were nicely presented and tasted lovely. A cheaper alternative to the white wine we requested (which was unavailable) was delish and went very well with the food. We couldn't finish the generous mains, so they doggy-bagged it for us, which was nice. Of 4 tables occupied, ours was the only one without an asian diner - a good indication I think. Will certainly return and highly recommend.

“Fantastic food, warm service”
Reviewed August 3, 2010

Great food, it was spicy, but not to hot so you can taste the subtle other flavours of the dishes.

Excellent Service, warm and friendly.

Only downside is that the place is a little small, but again that has it charms.

“After finding this place on trip adviser...”
Reviewed June 20, 2010

After finding this place on trip adviser app on my iPhone my girlfriend and I went here on the reviews we read.

We headed there for lunch and were offered a lunch time menu with 2 or 3 course options 2 course £6 and 3 course £8. We went for the 3 course option because, well why not. Fabulous! I'm a vegetarian and there were a few options in the set lunch menu alone. I had vegetable satay for start, a noodle dish for main and the Ginger and cinnimon ice cream for dessert.

We also had a bottle of red too and with the added service charge (which the staff, so we were told when asking don't get directly so you may want to remove the charge and tip seperatly if you're like us) came to £32.

Great! Highly reccomended and we shall return!

Oh and of course the food tasted ace! The ice cream was something else too!

“The chef knows what he's doing!”
Reviewed May 30, 2010

Went there today in hope to find some authentic Indonesian food. Being not only a foodie but also born into an Indonesian family, I was sceptical about giving this place a go. But I was not disappointed - what a find! Tucked away in a little side street off East Street, locals and tourists are a treated to a real taste of Indonesia. To my relief, the chefs are from Bali and Sumatra and not from some other Asian country assuming they can use their transferrable skills on just any cuisine. I had a beautifully decorated Nasi Campur that I can only recommend. Will definitely be back!
