Description: JAMIE'S ITALIAN BRIGHTON A partnership between Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, Jamie's Italian has won thousands of fans for its delicious and affordable food since launching their first restaurant in Oxford in May 2008. The Jamie's Italian menu is based on dishes you'd find people eating all over Italy, made with care but delivered without fuss. The family-friendly restaurants are all about serving up rustic, Italian food made using the best possible ingredients, plus fresh pasta that's made on-site every day, and an award-winning children's menu, too. The lovely Brighton restaurant is located on Black Lion Street, a stone's throw from the seafront, nestled within Brighton's famous Lanes. The rooftop terrace is a great spot to enjoy a drink and a bowl of our freshly made pasta or a burger after a trip to the beach, or relax in one of the cosy booths and watch the chefs at work in their beautiful open kitchen. There's something for everyone here, whatever the occasion - a quick bite with friends or a big family dinner - come in and soak up the atmosphere while you tuck into some delicious Italian food.

Grwat place for a rainy Friday afternoon. Nice atmosphere and good service. I would definitely return.

Visiting on Sunday lunch time the restaurant was full and quite noisy. before being shown to our table the grand children were shown where the books for kids were. Full marks for that. Service was a little slow mainly because it was a full house but our waiter kept us informed and the kids were happy reading the books provided which meant that they were not bothered by the wait.
The food was tasty but the mains are short of veg unless you pay extra. We had a small issue with a steak which was quickly resolved without a problem.

Ice cream is to die for!! Just like ice cream should be but overall a bit expensive for a family restaurant

The food was good but the attitude of the bar staff was arrogant They had run out of Prosecco which was odd.Serving of nibbles whilst we were waiting was indifferent The table waitress was excellent

I visited last Friday and had such a great night. All the staff were so friendly but not intrusive, the food was really delicious and priced between £10-14 for most of the mains. There was such a great atmosphere, it really represented Jamie. We were also given tasters of some wines before we got a bottle which was really nice! I really cannot wait to go back.
