Description: JAMIE'S ITALIAN BRIGHTON A partnership between Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, Jamie's Italian has won thousands of fans for its delicious and affordable food since launching their first restaurant in Oxford in May 2008. The Jamie's Italian menu is based on dishes you'd find people eating all over Italy, made with care but delivered without fuss. The family-friendly restaurants are all about serving up rustic, Italian food made using the best possible ingredients, plus fresh pasta that's made on-site every day, and an award-winning children's menu, too. The lovely Brighton restaurant is located on Black Lion Street, a stone's throw from the seafront, nestled within Brighton's famous Lanes. The rooftop terrace is a great spot to enjoy a drink and a bowl of our freshly made pasta or a burger after a trip to the beach, or relax in one of the cosy booths and watch the chefs at work in their beautiful open kitchen. There's something for everyone here, whatever the occasion - a quick bite with friends or a big family dinner - come in and soak up the atmosphere while you tuck into some delicious Italian food.

I. Have read others reviews and I'm sure the comments have been left by McDonald's and KFC eaters, the burger needed binding? They don't fill the food with breadcrumbs like mcds. I had prawn linguini which was amazing, the wife had a steak again amazing, our friends both enjoyed there meals. You never get massive portions in quality restaurants as its not about quantity it's about the fresh tastes and sensible portions. Would I go again? Without a doubt

Which ever Jamies you go too its basically the same. Food is good and service normally attentive. The Brighton 'branch' is as expected a bit more relaxed and buzzy. We ate in the afternoon and this proves to be very popular with families. No problem there other that it results in a pushchair congested bar area. I would advise to book a table if dining at the weekend.

Bustling full restaurant at 19h30 on a Tuseday night for our 30th wedding anniversary. Exceptionally pleasant and competent waitress. Food came as fast as we wanted and was of a good plus standard. Bill was reasonable. Only gripe was the dreadful music: mainly urgent drum samples on a loop, only of interest to the age-group which represented about 25 per cent of the clientele which was from about 2 to 70. Completely inappropriate for a pleasant Italian evening.

it is always busy, but service is good and I tend to choose one of the day´s specials. A large range of wines.

Service was ok but the food let it down.
Portion size of pasta was shockingly minute.
The burger with my first bite I found a lump of gristle. The burger you could tell was very much freshly made but it needed more binding it felt like I was eating a minced meat in a bun ,the burger was very crumbly.
Another dish tried was mushrooms on bread had so much garlic it spoilt the whole dish as that's all you could taste.
Won't be going back
