Having seen the other reviewers use words like "Faultless" and "Hidden Gem" I am wondering if I stayed in the same hotel!
we booked a "standard" double, I would seriously advise you to go for the "superior" options, "standard was for me very much below standard!. First of all I don't find that being welcomed by someone sitting at a shelf with a laptop great service, there is nobody available after 6pm and the owner/manager lives 15 miles away! The room was ok but overall disappointing, as soon as I saw earplugs being provided the warning bells started ringing, The bathroom had lots of tiny flies of some sort on the first day but we swatted most of them., really unappealling, the toilet had some weird box at the back which was very loud and would go off after flushing or after using the sink, I imagine this was irritating to other guests as well. Strangely when we were unpacking we found correspondence and clothing belonging to someone else in one of the drawers! Double glazing might be an idea, we actually thought our window was open during the night, it wasn't, but at least we realised what the earplugs were for :)On the bright side the location is decent enough and breakfast was excellent with friendly service. The girls who work there were friendly.

Room Tip: Don't book a standard double room.

This is a lovely B&B that exceeded all expectations. Staff were welcoming on arrival, and the room was clean and quirky, with a welcoming bottle of wine and chocolates.

Great location just minutes from the sea front, it is a perfect base for exploring Brighton. Would stay again and highly recommend.

I would definitely return here, its such a nice place. We arrived on Friday to a very warm welcome, our room was the 'Regency' room, with 4 poster bed (very comfy), large widescreen, very good selection of tea and coffee making facilities and soft drinks. A complimentary bottle of wine and glasses. I also requested some flowers and a card 2 weeks prior, which they nicely arranged and it was wonderful (Thanks a lot!).

The room was very clean and fairly big, with 2 built in wardrobes and plenty of drawers for storage. There was a kettle, iron and board, plenty of towels, toiletries, etc.... pretty much everything you need for the stay. The bathroom was also very clean, with a nicely lit mirror.
The view wasn't great, but then again you're not staying there to look out the window (some people expect too much). The window was huge though and let in plenty of light.

The breakfast was very nice, with a large choice of food. I'd recommend the full English. But there was also cereals, toast with home made preserves, fruit, yogurts, fresh juices and hot drinks.

All the staff were very friendly and there to help with anything you may need, i couldn't fault anything.

The location is excellent, just a 5 minute walk to the seafront, by the Brighton wheel and sea life centre. Its about 10-15 mins to the centre of Brighton. There are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants in the neighboring streets.

Just got back from another weekend at KH ,once again cannot fault this little gem. Marius on reception is a delight to talk to and very helpful. Breakfast is fresh and more than adequate before a long day shopping in Brighton, with great service from friendly welcoming staff. We stayed in 'Withdean' , lovely big room with view of the sea and the wheel. Thankyou Kempfield, we shall return.

Just got back from a lovely stay at kempfield house. The hotel is right on top of everything so great location. Rooms are very cosy we was in the carlton room at very top no noise heard from outside. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and parking permits are not a bad price at all £10 for 24 hours. We are going back with our children in the summer can't wait

Not a lot to fault. Comfy bed, single room small but OK for a short stay. Staff were efficient and anxious to please, the service was very good. Hotel clean, well thought out ,modern and well maintained. Excellent breakfast. Good location for beach, pier, Dome and The Lanes. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Room Tip: Tall narrow hotel so lots of stairs if you are at the top.
