We visited the Tea Cosy as part of a rather civilised hen do in Brighton. As visitors from the north, quaint afternoon tea is somewhat of a novelty for us, and the Tea Cosy really put a smile on our faces! Yes the hostess/waitress/owner? Isn't exactly cheerful (however she certainly wasn't rude), but the atmosphere was great, and the decor really does make the place special. We had varying items off the menu, some HUGE and delicious slabs of Carrot cake, and copious amounts of tea (Yorkshire naturally) and the bill came to £30 for 4 of us. Considering this was more than enough food for lunch and we were that full we considered a nap afterwards - I'd say that was a good deal! Would definitely return for the novelty factor, if you're looking for knock-your-socks off food then no this place won't be for you, but if you want basics done perfectly fine with added fun factor then I urge you to give the Tea Cosy a chance.
