Description: A Lebanese and Persian restaurant on Brightons busy Western Road, Taste of Sahara gives seaside dwellers a taste of the exotic at a very reasonable price. With its dcor created with care to reflect the atypical Middle East of story books and holiday brochures all pierced tin lanterns, heavy wood and rich colours Taste of Sahara has a look which reflects the diverse flavours of its immensely flavourful menu. From kebabs to tagines, all ones Middle Eastern favourites are offered by the Sahara kitchen, along with some lesser known dishes that will tempt the more adventurous diner. In particular, the restaurants mezzes prove popular, the sharing concept somehow suited to this kind of cuisine, particularly when accompanied by the BYO policy.

Been here a few times sabri and his team make you feel very welcome. Its a byo so u save a lot of money if your planning to drink. He has a couple of private tables out the back, a little courtyard to smoke shisha and big long tables for big parties. Food wise... the hot wings are nice and spicy. The shared meze is massive. My fave is the kabseh chicken, followed by the lamb tagine which comes with nice arabic bread. Ive never had a bad meal and look forward to my next one.

We booked a table based upon the reviews on Trip Advisor via email. Super responsive and our table was confirmed for Saturday night.

Menu is comprehensive with something for all tastes. We chose the mezze board for the 4 of us - plentiful and tasty. My personal favourite was the spicy potatoes but there was hummus, tzatsiki, flat breads, spicy lamb filo triangles and more. My lamb koftas were soft and tasty & very generous portions of rice and salad as accompaniments. As you can bring your own drinks, it makes for a very reasonable night out. As others have said the service is excellent - attentive but not overly so - allowing you to enjoy a meal with friends or family in this very good restaurant.

Great service, fresh food, nice atmosphere.
A little bit more expensive than I expected, but worth every penny.
The owner is extremely friendly and it's Bring Your Own Alcohol.

Food - incredible!
Service - exceptional!
So good we walked out trying to figure out how to we could return the next day. There's not many restaurants I would score a 5, but if 10 was an option they'd have it!
