Description: However popular the North Laine becomes, the heart of Brighton will always remain The Lanes themselves. There are plenty of pubs among the twisting narrow streets, but none is as well known as the Bath Arms, which enjoys a reputation among tourists and locals alike as THE pub of The Lanes.

“Wonderful Sunday lunch in a wonderful pub”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Took my dad here today who was visiting for the day from Devin, where, if I'm honest, we are spoilt for quiet and atmospheric pubs serving amazing local food

However, the bath arms exceeded my expectations! This had been recommended to me by a friend and was not a disappointment. We were seated promptly and were recommended a wonderful local ale by the barman who gave an accurate description of what to expect. The roast dinners were divine( I had beef, my dad lamb) and were very impressed.

The portions were Large without being overwhelming. The beef was tender an flavoursome, the roast potatoes crispy yet fluffy and the veg was very tasty(their red cabbage in particular with spices and apple was amazing). For pudding had choc brownie with brandy ice cream...yum!

The place is quite pricey but well worth the money, and The pub itself has an old school edwardian vibe which reflects the history of the laines. The service was very good as well.

Overall, highly recommend, and after working in catering, I am a tough customer! Scrummy!

“Very good food”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Had a lovely roast here today. Beef was well cooked and the veg tasted like veg! Everything was very good. Quite pricey (£13) but the food was worth it. The drinks on the other hand (a pint of coke and an orange juice and lemonade) came to just under £7. I know prices are on the rise but this felt overly expensive.

I ave also had two Christmas meals here in the past three years and have always been impressed.

“Excellent food and atmosphere”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

We visited here 8pm on a wed night with a view to a few quiet drinks and a meal together. The pub attracts a variety of people which adds to the atmosphere, everyone seemed to come here for the evening rather than just one drink. The layout means drinkers can be separate from eaters if they want. The staff couldn't do enough for you, were polite and helpful. We ate a fish pie with veg and a steak which were delicious. Only slight negative was they were quick to open a tab for us, but that is just personal preference, I imagine some people would appreciate it. Overall, excellent evening and will be coming back.

That says it all really. We've been coming to the Bath regularly for a while now and always loved it. The food is superb esp Sunday roasts and the staff are a friendly, genuine bunch. Can't recommend highly enough!

“Very cute”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

We went to Brighton about one week ago and we found accidentally this pub in the lanes. We took only two beers, advised by the staff, which was really nice. The room is cute, prices are right and the beers tasted very good.
