Visited Brighton more times than I can remember in rain, wind and sunshine. Just an hour's drive from London straight down the M23 or a quick train ride from Clapham Junction. The beach is pebbly but still lovely to visit in any weather. The pier is old school with amusement arcades and creaky rides but the children love it. Shops are close by with plenty of restaurants to choose from. The Sealife centre is not really worth the money - small and in need of a lick of paint - but if you have a Merlin pass it's worth a visit.

Lively, interesting and different. Always a pleasure to come here and stroll the beach looking at all the little shops and stalls, or just sit for a while and re-charge your batteries.

Have a pint and eat some fish & chips. See gorgeous people and feel alive. It's near downtown so u can go for some shopping too. Messages on the benches are real inspiring.

Nice pebble beach, even in winter. Very soothing and great for photographs. I went during February half term but it was still pretty quiet, with kids choosing to stay in the nearby playground area so we were free to walk about without screaming children everywhere.
