I struggled to find fault with the two course Festive Menu lunch. The grilled fillet of salmon with parsley crushed potatoes, vermouth sauce and side vegetables were all delicious, freshly cooked and served on piping hot plates. Two of us chose the selection of British cheeses and asked to try all six between. These were, again, all very good including a delicious piece of Cornish Yarg.
On the downside, none of our first three choices from the wine list were available - including both of the English whites. The waiter told us, on December 19th, that they "gettting these in for Christmas". Really?!! The restaurant was not especially full on a Thursday lunchtime and the rather stilted atmoshphere certainly did not benefit from a terrible CD of pop Christmas hits on repeat.
Overall, though, great food and pretty good value.
