Description: We look forward to welcoming you to the Dining Room at Deans Place, our newly refurbished restaurant. Our menus change monthly along with daily chef's recommendations so that we can offer the best of Sussex's wealth of local produce wherever possible. During the week, we have our more casual food offering with our Terrace & Bar menu, which is available from midday until 9:30pm. At the weekends, lunch is served in The Dining Room on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30pm and last orders are at 3pm. Our traditional Sunday Lunches are extremely popular and are available in both The Dining Room and in the Terrace & Bar. Absolutely wonderful food and a great credit to the chef. A lot of thought has gone into the various dishes, all of which are beautifully presented. Eat your heart out Gary Rhodes!!

We use Deans Place for family lunches - yesterday we were nine though they can easily accommodate a table of 20 plus if you wish, in the spacious airy restaurant.

While waiting for everyone to arrive you can sit on the comfy sofas in the bar and have a pre lunch drink. There was a wedding on yesterday so we moved into the cocktail bar - almost like having your own private room.

The menu is excellent value £24 for 3 courses and £18 for 2. Wine is very reasonable we had a perfectly good Malbec for £18. The menu is a fixed one and has a good variety with interesting dishes - I had potted venison followed by duck with a chocolate tart. It is quite "cheffy" and picky eaters may find their choice limited. There is also an excellent vegetarian menu.

Portions are not big but perfectly adeqaute and after three courses we were comfortably full.

Service is excellent and unobtrusive but there when you want it.

The great benefit for family dos is that you can go back to the bar area and stay for as long as you want so folks can go as and when. There is no sense of being hurried.

Buffet breakfast very good, although personally found the scrambled eggs far too creamy. Evening menu looked good quality.
