“cracking little lodge”
Reviewed September 12, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

booked the lodge for a week and have to say we were not disappointed it was spotless had all the things you expect from a lodge of this type

kitchen was well equipped and we used it most nights it has 2 bathrooms which was nice and plenty of room in the living areas

hot tub was lovely in the day or evening ( check out the stars ) and there was plenty of space to relax in the garden

the setting is also perfect with studland bay ( national trust land ) not too far if its a nice beach you want and weymouth and swanage close by for a more traditional seaside experience

all in all it was a great place to stay and if the towels were slightly bigger it would have been perfect

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property? Overall condition of the property
Bedding & mattresses Kitchen & utensils
Bathroom cleanliness
Liked best: all of it
Liked least: normal size bath towels bath sheets would have been better with the hot tub

So glad you enjoyed your stay, this part of the world is one of the world's secrets. So much to see and do there's never enough time.
Have taken your comments about towels seriously and now provide bath sheets as well.
Hope to see you all again.

The Lodge is immaculate we wanted to buy it !! If we could retire now there we would. The facilities, location, hot tub, view over fields, sound of the steam train are perfect. We travelled to Swanage and Corfe by Steam Train requesting the train to stop ourselves at the station a few minutes walk from the lodge. Opposite but cannot be heard is a campsite with small shop for those holiday essentials like milk, and you can easily walk across fields to the local pubs and fish and chip shop. Swanage is also walkable. On our third visit we found the pool at Dancing Ledge and visited Durdle Door where the sea is so clear, and snorkelled seeing many fish.

“Everything you could wish for and more, for a first class break”
Reviewed August 5, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

On arrival met by owner who explained everything we needed to know. The campsite opposite has a shop and bar and restaurant which sells food and would have most things for everyday needs. The shop also sells discounted tickets for the Swanage Steam Railway from Herston Halt, a request stop located a short walk back down the road, this we used everyday to go to Swanage Town and our visit to Corfe Castle. The lodge is very well equipped and furnished, you need to bring very little with you.
Overall a very relaxing stay and the wildlife is wonderful.

Must admit steam railway is one of my favourites as well, takes you back to a more relaxed time, which is no bad thing on holiday.
Hope to see you again soon.

Fantastic cabin in a perfect location. Clean and well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. Ron and Jan have clearly thought about everything, it's a real home from home. Hot tub is an added touch of luxury and so relaxing.

“Perfect location in the heart of Studland”
Reviewed July 2, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed at Lavender Leap for a long weekend and had a wonderful stay. The cabin was modern, clean, spacious, bright and perfect for either relaxing in the luxurious interior - or out on the patio soaking up the sun! We travelled with two friends and had two toddlers with us. We all loved the helicopter chairs and once the kids were in bed we enjoyed some time in the hottub. The location was ideal, with beautiful Studland beaches, Swanage and Corfe castle all within a 10 minute drive. We walked to the nearby station and caught the steam train which the children loved. The owner Ron, was on hand to offer tips and advice - and we found his information very useful. He even posted back some items that we left behind which was particularly kind of him! We would definitely stay again.
