When in Swanage a great walk on one of those sunny days when you need to get out and away from the crowds.

If you don't like walking, fresh sea air, great views, sketching, painting or photo opportunities then avoid this like the plague. Otherwise dig into like a good old steak and kidney pudding and savour the freedom it offers and the time to be away from it all and to just think. Afterwards you might stretch out in front of an open log fire in one of the many brilliant and often unique local hostelries over a pint or more of fantastic real ale, a lot of which is brewed on the door step.

Just one word describes this........... BRILLIANT.
You just have to go and see for yourself. You can park at Studland South Beach car park, which is National Trust, as is the venue. Members park free but if not there is a charge. I'm a member so don't know the price. The whole walk is around 3 miles and is not difficult. In parts you have a view on both sides..of Poole/Bournemouth on one side and Swanage on the other..that's apart from the stunning cliff scenery en route.

My fiance and I decided to walk up Old Harry Rocks from the beach up the massive hill. We'd walked upwards of 10 miles the day before - something we can safely say that we're not really used to! The effort to walk up the hill (and knowing we'd have to walk down again!) probably took most of the enjoyment out of the experience of getting to the top and seeing the beautiful sights of the rocks, although the view from halfway up the hill was amazing. For anyone who would like the full enjoyment of the rocks, park at Studland and walk from there!
