Had a two course lunch in the conservatory overlooking the bay on a beautiful day. Decor and furnishing clean but very basic, views stunning, not disappointed with the food or the service good option for lunch.

We booked on line which was very easy, following up with a telephone call to the hotel, which was answered by a very friendly voice confirming our table reservation, time of dining, and suggesting that the conservatory would give us a commanding view of Swanage bay whilst dining.

Travelling from Bournemouth via the Sandbanks chain ferry through country roads to Swanage was easy; parking is limited at the hotel but there are spaces in the road nearby. Once inside the hotel we were greeted by a friendly face in reception, passing through to the bar off the conservatory where we were to dine.
We were once again greeted by the friendly barman who took our reservation slip.and we were showm to our table in the conservatory. Sipping on our pre-dinner drink we were treated to a stunning panoramic view of the bay.

The friendly waiter took our order and we were soon enjoying a very tasty starter, both opting for pate, For the main course I chose steak cooked to my liking, whereas my partner decided on a dressed crab, but we both enjoyed the meal in pleasant unhurried atmosphere softly lit by the candle on our table.

We chose a cheese board for dessert and it came with a glass of port which was a nice touch, I had a sip of mine but unfortunately had to pass it to my lucky partner to enjoy as I was driving home later.

Driving home with the top down was delightful under the starlit sky after an evening well spent and very much worth the bill cost which was very reasonable/

Fabulous views from the terrace and conservatory, very limited choice of wine by the glass. service can be a bit slow when busy, but the staff are very polite and accomodating. The restaurant also has nice views and the 'a la carte menu changes daily giving plenty of variety of well cooked tasty fayre.

Thank glothorn
