“Lovely Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

We stayed here for Just one night as we were attending a wedding here, We stayed in a family room in the lodge, which was clean, Airy, lots of space and a TV for the kids, No complaints at all, I thought the staff were really lovely, i went looking for milk at about 11 in the evening and the staff couldnt have been more helpful, went and got it and he offered to bring it up to my room so i didnt have to carry it. During the day at the wedding all of the waiting staff were lovely and more than helpful with my two children. The only thing against it is its price, We payed quite a bit for one room for one night, I only stayed because of the wedding and ease for the children, If you are thinking of staying I would recommend just on the service, but the price is a big put off and i dont think I would pay it again.

The most quirky hotel, we have ever stayed in! We stayed in the Louisa Lodge for 2 nights, visiting family. It's an old Convent School. Breakfast was great, staff very polite and helpful. If the owners modernised it, it would have no character, we loved it! Only down side was the price, but it is the height of the season, so can't grumble really! Weather was naff though, but can't really blame this lovely, "strange" Hotel for that. Loved every minute! Highly recommended.

We had two relaxing nights at this very nice hotel. Our rooms in the Louisa Lodge were large and had all the basics including comfortable beds. The location couldn't be better and the gardens were relaxing. I would have given the hotel 5 stars but it was very expensive.

We stayed here for a 2 night break 12th & 13th July. The hotel was full as it was the Swanage Jazz festival which is, apparently, very popular. We stayed in a family room in the Louisa Lodge building. Whilst this building does not have anywhere near the character of the main building it is still very pleasant and the family room is particularly well proportioned. Definitely not the usual stick a zedbed in a standard double! The main building is lovely, having lost none of its character from when it was private residence. The included breakfast was the only slight downside to our stay. Whilst the cooked breakfast was very nice the buffet ran out of things very quickly for which there were not any replacements. For instance, both mornings they had run out of yogurt which, for me, was very disappointing and the pastry selection had also disappeared by the time I got to it, except for a single croissant the first morning. Perhaps this was due to them being particularly busy.
What really made our stay though, were the fantastic staff. Always pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The first experience I had of the excellent service was a couple of weeks before we checked in. Our room was booked for us by another family member and so I wasn't sure of the arrangements. I emailed the hotel with a general enquiry to ask about parking as my wife is disabled. I did not mention any details of our stay, only that we were booked in during the summer. Not only did I receive a response almost immediately but the lady had gone to the trouble of finding our booking and suggesting that we may wish to change rooms as we had been given one on the second floor and that it might not be suitable. I found this to be the level of service consistent with all members of staff during our stay.
To wrap up, I would definitely stay here again should I need to be in Swanage in the future and I would also not hesitate in recommending this establishment.

What a lovley hotel, we stayed around 7 years ago and it still has the same warm friendly welcome. The staff were very helpful and polite, the breakfast was perfect (we did not eat in the restaurant) I would definatley recommend this hotel to anyone, couples or families, 5 min walk to the beach, well stocked bar open until late. Only negative is the hotel could do with a bit of updating, the whole hotel is immaculatley clean but decorating just needs bring up to date etc.
