On entering Elodie's I was overwhelmed by the wacky but fabulous interior. It is clear that attention to detail was definitely on their mind when decorating. Massive teacups and the querky witches brromstick snugly popped in the corner all add to the charm. This cafe is beautifully intimate without being overly small. Now onto the food. The menu is not overwhelmingly big but the dishes have been carefully chosen and all are homemade. The Cream of Mushroom soup was incredible, one of the best soups that have tasted in a long time. I will definitely be returning to Elodie's as you just feel incredibly welcomed.

Have been to this café on many occasions and in fact put it forward for inclusion on tripadvisor. So glad it is now included. It would be lovely to think that it could be kept a local secret, but it deserves all the wider recognition it can get. The food is consistently fabulous across the board. Not only is everything home-made, it is also freshly made. You can get anything from a snack to a full blown roast meal. Cakes are fabulous too! The blackboard menu changes daily. Elodie herself is lovely and nothing is too much trouble for her. She seems to know all the regulars by name, but whether you are a regular or just passing through, your welcome is the same. Outside seating is within a small pretty courtyard which has a mural on the wall. Jazz and Tapas evenings are also held here. This café welcomes everyone from the young mothers with children to the very frail and elderly. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

We found Elodie when we stopped in Shaftesbury whilst travelling to Dorset. Service was friendly and the food came quickly. There is not a wide choice of food but it is homemade and really tasty. This is much better in my view than a vast bought in menu. The quiche was among the best I have had in a café and came with a lovely salad. We broke our journey here on the way back and enjoyed another excellent lunch.
