“Lovely place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

I enjoy going to the Salt Cellar, great place to have coffee and look at the views. My only gripe is that the chairs outside feel as if they are going to collapse, the legs are not fixed properly and move from side to side, slightly unnerving. Please could you think about replacing them with something sturdier; I have mentioned this to a waitress before.

Apart from that it is delightful.

“Excellent and very helpful service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is at the top of Gold Hill, behind the Town Hall, but I would come down the left hand side with the steps next time - very slippery cobbles and a steep slope, although there is a handrail. Worth it though - they were very helpful in fitting in 4 adults and two children without a booking and both the specials and the general menu were good. They were also extremely helpful with almost all of us going slightly off menu. Booking advisable, I think. The views are magnificent.

“Up the Hill!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

Just popped in for a cuppa and cake with a friend so didn't eat a meal but love the spot this eatery is situated, especially on a sunny day. Ambience good, staff very friendly and would certainly return. Have visited once before

“Great Bistro - Fantastic View - Wonderful Food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

This place is so good that we more often or not, revert to visiting the Salt Cellar rather than go elswhere for lunch. The owner chef Kes and Tim prepare food in a modern yet creative way using only the best quality products and their presentation is extremely good on the eye also.
The serving staff are very helpful and make the meal most enjoyable. And if you're lucky enough to be able to eat outside overlooking the hills and downs of the Blackmore Vale - then you have just won the jackpot in an eating experience. Great food in a Great location, In short TERRIFIC.

“The best view in England”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

Grab a table outside and soak up that view, nothing like it... we had the homemade steak and vegetable pie which was good although a bit dry but we were late for lunch so probably at lunch time they would have been just right, still tasty and definitely homemade. would definitely return if in the area again.
