“Lovely, friendly B&B/Guesthouse”
Reviewed September 17, 2011

I knew it would be a great guest house (having not used Trip Advisor) just from making the booking when Joan was so warm and friendly, explaining her security of information she holds etc.

We arrived and were made welcome by being invited to make ourselves at home. Our room was Room 2, a twin room, with plenty of storage space for a longer stay than we were staying for. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was well arranged (plenty of room in the shower without knocking knees, elbows etc) and the array of toileteries was almost confusing in its' choice. Joan keeps an honesty 'shop' for those last minute forgotten bits and pieces, including black socks!!!

The breakfasts were well and freshly cooked, tremendous choice of 15. I love the fact that there is a fridge in the hall for guests to use, milk and juice, and also a very comfortable guest lounge and Joan will bring you a teapot and jug for a very civilised take on tea!

Joan was extremely knowledgeable about the area, which included restaurants, places to go, local transport and the way to go in a couple of cases.

All in all a delightful stay. I went with a friend, but shall be taking my mother next year, to visit Maiden Castle (at the end of the road) as it says on the address!

The Best B & B I've ever stayed in. I do a lot of travelling and this was without doubt a benchmark B & B. It supplied everything I thought I needed and delighted by offering things I didn't know I wanted.

Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I stayed in one of the two single rooms but all the rooms seemed nice and comfortable.

Spent a lovely weekend at Aquila Heights. Joan was most helpful and knowledgable about the area and the breakfasts are TERRIFIC. The B. & B. is a little gem. We will most definately make a return visit.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 6 and found it comfortable and ideal for our short stay. Its in a quiet area.

Joan was very welcoming, the rooms are super-clean and well furnished. The breakfast menu is incredible- huge choice of cereals, plus I think 12 different hot dishes on the menu. Biggest range of bathroom products I've ever seen, something for everyone no matter how fussy. Lots of teas and coffees available, and fresh milk. Very quiet street, off-street parking, wi-fi - what more could you want!

If you are searching for holiday accommodation in Dorchester, look no further than the bed and breakfast provision by Mrs Joan Cox at Aquila Heights Guesthouse.
Every aspect is quite outstanding: a very warm welcome;exceptionally good amenities in really comfortable surroundings; comprehensive details of local amenities and attractions; only 10 minutes walk from the railway station and town centre;quiet location;a choice of brekfast options which leaves most hotels looking very modest, both the quality and quantity are such that little or no topping up of food will be required until well into the afternoon. Overall, stongly recommended without any reservations.
