“Special breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

We go with a group who hold fund-raising breakfasts at various venues. Athelhampton House was by far the best we've been to. They laid on a buffet with full-English and wide selection. Great tea and coffee. Had been previously for a Christmas evening with another group and equally impressed.

“LIke a film set”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Superb slice of history well run by the Cooke family still I believe. An amazing insight into life in the past. Full of atmosphere and worth visiting in the height of summer and then again on a dreary wet day for a totally different take on this grand home.

“Visit to Athelhampton House”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

It is a gem, hidden in the background of Dorset. A beautiful house, with a surprisingly family feeling (not like in a museum). Great rooms and a picturesque garden. Worth a visit, but not easy to find.

“Outstanding House & Gardens”

Lovely family house, which you are free to wander around at your own pace. Gardens are large, interesting but not so well kept taht they are unreal. Excellent on site restaurant as well.

“Magical”

Visited Athelhampton to enjoy the massive dove coop and numerous art works. Staff were friendly and informed without being overbearing. Gardens were interesting with topiary to enjoy - a lovely day out
