We visited this hotel during the Easter weekend. As a chocolate fanatic, I was surprised I hadn't spotted this hotel before so I had to try it.

We got a nice welcome, by a massive vase of chocolate buttons........and by the owners obviously! The chocolate isn't that cheap stuff which in a way I was expecting to be honest. It's lovely!! Not that i'm fussy on chocolate but I was pleasantly surprised.

The hotel throughout was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Room was nice, with a pot of chocolate on the table as well as two slabs with the hotel name on it. The bed was very comfortable and huge!

The bar is definitely worth a visit. There is another big vase of choccy drops to help yourself to as well as little dishes of truffles and various chocolate. The choctails have to be tried, they are amazing. Sadly I couldn't have too many as we had booked a meal later on that evening and as a lot of them are cream based, they fill you up quickly....or it could have been the amount of chocolate buttons I ate!! I would recommend going for a meal early and then going back to the hotel for drinks.

The breakfast was good and included a veggie option. There are chocolate pancakes but as other's have said, maybe it would have been good to have more chocolate for breakfast - chocolate croissants, chocolate biscuits, different hot chocolate or more buttons and truffles. There's a little table you can buy chocolate by the breakfast room which is very well priced.

There's no 'downside' to this hotel at all but again, if I had to note anything it would be to agree with other reviews to say about the towels could be better and definitely 'proper' chocolate biccies in the room.

The owners are very friendly and will do anything to help. They encourage you to eat as much chocolate as you like! They haven't just opened up a gimmiky chocolate hotel, they have done it because they simply love chocolate. They certainly know their stuff about it and are just obsessed!

My boyfriend is a Chocoholic, so this seemed like an ideal present for his 29th birthday!
We stayed in the Maya room, with a lovely bay window overlooking the garden at the front and also very quiet. I ordered a Chocolate fountain in the room for the 1st night, which was amazing! The service from the staff from when we arrived to when we left was wonderful. The chocktails in the bar were tasty (and strong!) and there was chocolate to hand everywhere!
Its only a 5 minute walk to the cliff top and to some lovely restaurants (we ate at the Mint Leaf, lovely food and service)
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who loves chocolate and for people who like something a bit different.

Our view of this hotel suffered from us having just stayed for two nights at Harbour Heights Hotel, overlooking Sandbanks and Poole. We chose to extend our weekend after finding that this hotel was bookable using coupons. After staying at an AA 5* this hotel seemed small and dark, but to compare the two would be unfair to this hotel. This hotel is what we are really more used to and Harbour Heights is a rare treat for us.

We had a coupon and had paid roughly half-price for the room. It was very clean and had all we needed for an overnight stay. The en-suite was pretty small but we understand why hotels have to put in these conversions in order to stay in business.

There was chocolate in the foyer and we both had a bar of choccy-stuff in our room. We bought some to take into work but we are not chocolaty-people.

The staff were very helpful and friendly without being over-bearing.

We had breakfast in a very light and spacious room, served by the most helpful member of staff. Having Chris Evans on breakfast radio was fine and enabled people to talk at more than a whisper, which can often be the case in a B&B type dining room.

The breakfast was the best we had all weekend and was much better than at Harbour Heights, the previously mentioned AA 5* hotel.

The hotel website gave information about where to eat and this directed us to a wonderful Thai restaurant serving Thai Tapas which was superb.

All in all a decent hotel run by people who seemed determined to build on their expertise to provide a good overnight stay.

I stayed at the chocolate boutque hotel with my boyfriend on the 20th April for one night. We got a deal from wowcher and loved our stay!
We arrived and were welcomed with chocolate buttons at the reception - which you can help yourself to 24hours a day. We were welcomed warmly and the hotel was very clean and nicely decordated. We stayed in the Maya room, which was quite small but had a bowl of hotel shaped chocolates, 2 slabs of chocolate pkus tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. We had a shower and it worked perfectly.
Although we did not buy drinks from the bar, we had a look inside and there is more chocolate there - truffles and more chocolate buttons. There really is all you can eat chocolate!
There is a nice selection at breakfast - fruit, yogurt, cereal, muffins, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. You can have a choice of cooked breakfast. I chose the pancakes and got 2 very yummy pancakes with a generous helping of melted chocolate. In the afternoon and evening there was also a chocolate fountain with marshmallows in the reception. We came in after a night out and it was a lovely treat!
There was a sign in the room saying it may be noisy but we found it very quiet.
Location is excellent 5-10 min walk from the beach and shops.
We went to Lolitas tapas in the evening and would definitly recommend that too!
Overall a great stay and would love to stay again!

We visited the Chocolate Boutique Hotel for a 5 days break in the Aztec Room(my husband, daughter and I) The Hotel was in a good location. 10 minute walk each way to the town and the beach. The room was clean and well presented. We had a sofa bed for our daughter which we were aware of when we booked, which made the room slightly cramped but for us this was not an issue. Our bed seemed huge and was really comfortable and our daughter didnt have any complaints either and slept very well on the sofa bed. We thought the hotel was reasonably priced. Service was great. The owners and all of the staff were absolutely lovely. Really helpful on recommending places to go. Nothing was too much trouble. There was indeed an abundance of chocolate for you to help yourself to. We thought the breakfast was really good too. There was a selection of cereals, juices, preserves etc and on top of this a choice of hot breakfasts which were delicious. The only hot breakfast we didnt try was the chocolate pancake - but purely because we had had enough chocolate. Would thoroughly recommend and we will return.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the chocolate hotel. Apart from feeling like I need to go on a diet we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Hotel is in an excellent location 5-10 minute walk to the main town and beach and restaurants and shops just round the corner. Staff at the hotel were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the trinitario room, very spacious, comfy bed, lovely walk in shower and very clean. Chocolate is everywhere in the hotel. Bowls of chocolate buttons and fountain with marshmallows on reception, Slabs and pots of chocolate in your room and we even hired a chocolate fountain in our room for the first night. Cost £30 but it was delicious, comes with generous pots of marshallows and strawberries. Breakfast in the hotel was great with selection of cereals, toast, full English or chocolate pancakes. Overall we had a very enjoyable weekend and certainly recommend this hotel if you are looking to be in a great location or are chocoholics like us!
