Just returned from a five day holiday at the Majestic Hotel by coach with Shearings our driver Lawrence was a gentleman personified (nothing was too much trouble) a more pleasant Shearings driver I have yet to come across. The hotel is very nice, the varied menu is excellent, our spanish waitress was the best we have come across in a Shearings hotel, again nothing was too much trouble, she was extremely polite at all times - her personality shone through at all times, sorry I didn't get her name - we were on table 4 in the dining room, myself, husband, daughter and our grandson, we would definitely recommend this holiday and we shall definitely be going back in the future. As this was our 9th Shearings coach holiday this and with another booked for December I think its fair to say WELL DONE SHEARINGS for great value for money holidays - THANK YOU.

Thank you Dia1389 for your nice comments about our staff and the efficient service you received.

My apologises about the mould, we will investigate and rectify the issue.

I was a little bit surprised about your comments regarding the heating, as we usually don’t have any problems with this. However, I am glad we were able to sort it out with a portable heater, although we will also investigate as to why there was no heating.

Kind Regards

We booked this Monday to Friday break for half term with Shearings and were delighted with the value it gives. Like one of the recent reviewers we were also in room 212. The room is spacious enough although the en-suite is small and very basic with a bath and a tap attachment shower.

The food was good with a varied menu. It was well presented and very efficiently served. The inclusive drinks package is restricted to four drinks per person per day (which in my case is more than enough) from a limited selection and they don't allow any "unused" credit for drinks to be caried over to the next day. The hotel is in a good location about 10 /15 mins walk from Bournemouth centre (Note uphill from town to hotel) although there is a regular bus service about 200m away at the end of the road.

There is plenty to see and do in and around Bournemouth, Poole and the new Forest

Thank you, passenger in the night for your very nice review.

We are currently offering four drink vouchers per day per customer. At the moment and the feedback from the customers is great as most of the people enjoy the flexibility of using them throughout the day and it eliminates those horrible queues that we had we offered a limited free bar in a limited time slot.

I will pass your lovely comments to our staff.

I am very pleased that you found us to be very good value for money hotel and I am pleased that you have enjoyed your stay with us.

Best Wishes.

We booked a Mystery weekend with Shearings at least it was a mystery when we booked but we knew we were going to Bournemouth about a week before we left. No problems with the journey coach was on time at all points Driver Jim was friendly and helpful.
On arrival we were given room 212 - second floor at the front of the hotel. Spacious having a double bed and a single. En-suite small but adequate. A bath with a rubber shower attached to the taps and no curtain so one had to be careful. Exceptionally clean and serviced daily. Good choice on the menu and was well presented. Yes we have had better food but have paid much more for it. Evening entertainment excellent probably the best we have had had in a Shearings Hotel.
Considering the age of the clientel the lift is rather small Two people maximum or one with a case which as a Shearing's customer we did not have to carry. The hotel is situated a little out of Bournemouth town centre but a frequent bus service runs nearby
Excellent value for money and we would recommend both the weekend and the hotel..

Room Tip: We were happy with our room at the front although noisy on the last morning with caes being loaded

Dear keithandglen
Thank you very much for that lovely review which is very much appreciated by all of us. We look forward to seeing again soon. Apologises for not having a shower but as mentioned on a previous review, we are upgrading rooms all the time. If in future you would like a shower give us a call when you book or better still book with us and we can sort it for you.

Once again we had a great weekend at the Majestic. The entertainment was great all weekend and it was enhanced by the willingness of the guests to join in. The staff are very efficient and at the same time friendly. Whilst the hotel is clean and inviting and the rooms are well equipped and clean, the bathrooms need refurbishing. The food is good and there is a good choice and good portions. We have always found the Hotel good value for the money.

Booked with Shearings. Our coach driver Lawrence was fantastic, we loved the interesting little facts on the journeys that made our coach trips even more enjoyable and he was always professional and very helpful.
After reading the reviews on here before we went we were apprehensive about the hotel. Basically you get what you pay for, so as far as we are concerned it was value for money. Yes the hotel needs modernising and there are signs that they are trying to do that within the hotel.
The room we were given was lovely but the bathroom just had a bath with a hose connected to the tap for a shower (no shower curtain). I went to reception to ask for a room with a shower cubicle and no trouble at all I was given a key to another room. Room 317, It did have a shower cubicle but it was more like a shower in a cupboard, and not the most powewrful of showers. The sink was in the bedroom. The room itself was on the small side but had a tv (5 channels only), hair dryer, iron, tea/coffee making facilities and it was clean and towels changed and bed made on a daily basis. The meals were satisfactory, at least three choices of each course everyday. The entertainment wasnt the best, but Amanda Jane was great she made us laugh. All the hotel staff were friendly and most helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. The hotel is in a good location for cliff top walks or beach walks. Also excellent bus routes across the road from the hotel. If you are on a budget or just need a cheap break away we would recommend this hotel.

Dear Nataritreps, thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am glad to see that you have noticed signs of modernising in our hotel. And yes the hotel would benefit from having showers in all the rooms. We are on a rolling process to improve the hotel and showers in all bedrooms are in the top of our priorities.
I am glad that you did find us value for money, as mentioned by the last two reviewers. I will pass on your kind comments to the staff.
If you do decide come back to see us again, I would if I may recommend you to give us a call prior your arrival to request a room with a shower as we would be happy to do our best to allocate you to more suitable room for your needs.
