lovely cosy hotel at B+B prices. Loved the decor in the public areas esp the v comfortable, welcoming lounge. I was in 1A which, though not large, was comfortable and well kitted out. So quiet, I slept for more hours than usual - didn't hear the grandfather clock which I thought might be annoying. Lovely, prompt breakfast served at pre-arranged time. Paid £31 which if you compare the laterooms website for other accomodation in Bournemouth is an absolute bargain - self styled 'budget' hen/stag party hotels charge £25-£30. Highly recommended

No major problems here although bathroom wasn't very clean. Good value for money, basic and comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Warm welcome and friendly helpful service. Would stay here again.

This hotel/ guest house is in a good location for both beach and town centre and offers an excellent cooked breakfast. However it lets itself down on its dire need of refurbishment. I must say though i can only comment on the room i stayed in that being room 12. Upon entering there was a strong smell of damp. We kept all windows open for the two days we were there but this had little effect. The bathroom was the real issue. It was pretty awful. If you wanted to have a quick shower then forget it. The flow was so minimal it could take you some time to get all your body wet. The bathroom blind was dirty. It really was quite off putting. Another issue was the complimentary tray. Horlicks, hot chocolate and bottled water are provided on arrival but from then on you are charged 5op a sachet and £1 a bottle, pretty extortionate i believe. Despite the room being serviced daily we was disappointed to find the cups were left dirty. To sum up if your only requirements are good location and breakfast but your'e not too concerned about the accommodation itself then this could be the place for you.

Great location, a short walk from the beach and not too far from the town centre. The gardens are lovely and the hotel is very nicely decorated.

Our double room was lovely and if I was scoring the hotel just on this room, I'd give it a 5. However, the ground-floor single room was rather cramped and smelled damp. It was necessary to put the heater on to keep the chill off. Unfortunately, we needed a ground-floor room, otherwise we might have asked to be moved.

The breakfast was good with a wide choice, including delicious porridge and pancakes, which was a nice change. Because you have to fill in a breakfast order the evening before, the service is generally quick.

Room Tip: Room 7 (double 4-poster) was a great room with a lovely view over the front garden. Room 1A (single...

My husband & I stayed 4 nights at the Wood Lodge, we were looking for a complete "chill" few days, lovely hotel, very tastefully decorated & furnished in the style of the building. The owners and staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient we were made you feel very comfortable, nothing was too much trouble, much more. The breakfast menu was extensive and the quality and presentation of the food served at breakfast was superb, fresh coffee which tasted fab was the cherry on the cake. Will definitely return :))

Friendly greeting.Lovely spacious room.Shower a bit of a squeeze but efficient with lots of hot water.Breakfast impeccable.Charming, knowledgeable staff. The hotel is an oasis set in a wooded part of town with extensive gardens front & rear which one may use. Quiet, close to beach & town centre & a great place to stay for those who wish to use public transport.
Put this one at the top of your list.

Excellent room with ensuite bathroom. Very comfortable. Hosts and staff were always on hand to help in anyway. Rob was very helpful at providing local information on places to visit. All staff were very approachable and the atmosphere was lovely. The meals provided were excellent and were made using good quality produce. Would love to go to Bournemouth again.......but would only go again if Wood Lodge had vacancies for the dates I needed. Thank you
