It's not the ritz but was clean, food was good, staff helpful and polite. Exactly what we needed and fab location. Just what we needed. No complaints at all. Would definitely go back. Car parking a bit scarse but alternative supplied.

Although the hotel is a little 'tired' the staff were more than helpful. Powerful shower. Lovely big double bed. Dinner buffet but OK. Breakfast similar. Great value and only a little walk from shops and bars. There is a pool you can use. Bar not too over priced and friendly bar staff. Overall good weekend break.

We were really worried about this hotel reading all the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. We booked through wowcher, one night stay which included dinner, breakfast and bottle of wine 55.00. It was great value for money. Room was clean, except for 2 hairs in shower!! Basic but absolutley fine, staff friendly and helpful. We would come back. Food was lovely.

Room Tip: Room 327 good size room but no sea view!! But clean

There were 8 of us staying at this hotel and the general feeling I got as soon as I walked in was eerie. We checked into 3 out of 4 of our rooms. The first room was ok, although I done the bed test and the mattress was rock hard. The second room the spy hole on the front door was broken so whoever walked past the room could see inside. The third room there was mould all around the room, quite badly. The pictures on the wall were creepy to say the least.
We then went down to the so called spa. It was a rectangular pool like the kind your kids school would take them swimming too. The sauna was tiny and the Jacuzzi you had to climb up to get in, There were no treatments at all. This was advertised as a spa?!?!
We complained one of the staff tried to say its advertised as a spa bath not a spa so we showed her the groupon offer and the Britannia website. We eventually got moved to the royal bath hotel just round the corner, this is the sister hotel and was lovely, the spa was great the rooms were comfy and the staff were lovely.
Don't get me wrong I would have stayed there if I had to but its definitely not what it said on the tin and was probably more disappointed as I was expecting it to be nice like its sister hotel.

Just had a lovely weekend away! Staff were really nice and helpful. Was really worried when I booked it and saw the reviews. But you do get what you pay for! It's was clean, food was good and so close to Bournemouth and you do have to pay for parking. Over all good weekend we would come stay here again.

I booked this hotel through groupon,as many others have £99 dinner on 1st night of stay with a bottle of house wine, with breakfast each morning.also access to swimming pool, sauna and spa bath.We arrived approx 1.30pm as check in is at 3pm,we looked around the hotel, found the bar, drinks average price,we decided to have a snack-would recommend the sausage and bacon baps-well worth the money. At 2.30pm reception informed us that we could check in our room, yes the lifts are very small, only allowing 1 person with their luggage,3rd floor room(326) quite large standard double corner room with 3 windows, over looking the main road, but with sleep not disturbed.Small bathroom with a walk in shower, tiny sink and toilet compact but clean.Very thin pillows,we did ask for more which we recieved straight away, clean sheets and towels. The kettle was faulty-had to hold the on/off switch down for it to work, reported this to reception-promptly brought us a new one.The tv was old model, with scrambled channels,3 music channels,2 channel 5,2 itv1,2 dave but no bbc2!we reported this, but it could not be fixed we wrote all the channels down as they were not in order-channel 1 was channel 5 etc....
There was a sofa in the room-not very comfortable at all.A very large dining room, which needed back ground music as each time we ate you could have heard a pin drop as it was so quiet.Dinner was a hot and cold buffet(a sign above the hotplate asking guests to limit themselves to one main meal only)the mushroom soup was stone cold, main meals ok but not very hot, deserts consisted of 3 flavoured ice creams, cheese cake and gateau. The breakfast though was very good, apart from the scrambled egg(don't bother trying it)buffet style again, with plenty of items to choose.Very good value for money i would stay there again as very close walking distance in to town,as you do not need to use the car,yes it has its faults though i do not agree with other comments that have been made,it also may depend on which nights of the week you stay.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 326-3rd floor with lift access, quite a large standard double a corner room, front f...
