“Don't be put off by stag dos”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

I recently stayed at this hotel for my nephew's stag do. There was another stag group staying and at least one group of hens (or should that be brood?). Nigel, the owner asked us to be considerate of couples who were also staying and not part of any group. Yeah, good luck on that front, I thought! But I was surprised, there was very little noise and the hotel engendered a great inclusive atmosphere.
Nigel and his wife were lovely, very welcoming and incredibly helpful. I was in a twin room and this had loads of room and a bathroom that wouldn't look out of place in a four or five star hotel. Both rooms were very clean. The beds were very comfy with excellent quality quilts and clean sheets. Some of our groups’ rooms were a bit more cramped but still spotless.
Breakfast was outstanding value and quality and the team were flexible around events that we had booked.
All in all, great value and, no matter what the reason for your visit, I would recommend you stay here.

Room Tip: Room 3 was one of the larger ones of our group and on the ground floor

The staff were very helpful and friendly the BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING and i would highly recommend it.
Its 5 mins from Town centre 10 mins from Beach / Pier....

Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: All the rooms vary, but we had 3 to a room, next time i would request a double / twin not a triple...

Stayed here on a hen do last weekend and it was great! The hotel was perfect for what we needed.. clean and comfy and the staff were so kind and generous! They were always willing to help with booking taxi's, ordering food, places to go etc and were very lovely to us despite having to clear up after us the whole time! I would definitely recommend it!!

We stayed at the hotel last weekend as part of a hen do and we had an great stay. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable, the owners/reception staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, the bar was small but good value and great service, the breakfasts were delicious and the waitresses/housekeepers were very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, or to go back again myself.

We stayed at the Applewood for two nights in June 2012. They did not have a double room available the first night but we decided to take a twin room instead. It was very small but they had warned us it was. Despite its size it was very clean and comfortable and served us well for one evening. The next day they moved our bags over for us to a lovely double room. It was a nice size, modern, and again clean and comfortable. The hotel is ideally situated for the beach, shopping and also nightlife. We also had free parking during our stay which is not the case at a lot of other Bournemouth hotels. The lady and gentleman running the place were both very nice and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was really delicious with lots of choice of cereals yoghurts etc before a lovely fry up. The lady host even gave me a pot of the home made marmalade to take with me after I said how nice it was. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a budget break. The room prices were reasonable and the standards very good. :-D
