“Excellent B+B for a stay in bournmouth”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

We stayed for the weekend of the air show. The rooms were very clean and modernly decorated/furnished. Obviously the town is massively busy at that time of year so there was a little noise but this really couldnt be helped. The breakfast served was fantastically well cooked and of excellent quality. The slight downside is the amount of available parking (on street) but by separate arrangement with a local hotel this can be gotten round. I would definately stay again and recommend this B+B.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors may be benefical to avoid street noise.

After checking tripadvisor for somewhere to stay in Bournemouth, four of us stayed here this past weekend. We requested a ground floor room for our friend who had recently had an operation and this was made available for her and a lovely big room it was too. However, that meant that me and my hubby were on the 2nd floor with a smaller room....but as we spent so little time in the room it didnt really matter. The bathroom was compact but perfectly clean with big fluffy bath towels - the shower was a little on the small side, so a big person may find it difficult to bend down in there! he bed was comfy enough.
Tea and coffee with quality biscuits were provided also.
Full English Breakfast was very good quality and the second morning I actually had the house speciality called Chingeree (I think) a kind of fried rice with onions, sausage and prawns with mixed chinese pickle which was cooked fresh by Jing - and delicious it was too!
The street is very quiet at night so you can hear revellers talking on their way past - there were several stag parties staying at other properties along the street, so it did get a bit noisy at times.
I went for a very early morning walk both days down to the beach - turn left out of the hotel and keep walking till you get to the Marriott hotel, about 5 mins. Lovely views right along the coast and lovely to walk along the cliff top and make your way back along the beach - be warned! the return walk back up the cliff is very steep!!
We went out in the town in the evenings and the second night had an enjoyable meal at Pinoccios Italian - tried to get into the tapas restaurant but it was full till 10pm so book if you want tapas!
Lovely stay at the Cremona and would definately recomend.

Stayed in the 3 family room which had ample space for 3 adults as well as a travel cot. Perfectly clean with spotless bathroom and very comfy beds. 5 star breakfast - would return just for that in fact - quality ingredients, plentiful and superb hospitality. Perfect location with only a short walk to both beach, park and shops. Will definitely visit again.

We arrived in Bournemouth on a whim after a wedding in Wiltshire, deciding to continue enjoying the teeny bit of sun that constitutes this soggy summer! We called The Cremona at gone 7pm and were offered the family room as the only available one, and Martin very kindly immediately offered a discount for us as a couplewildfire we asked!). It is a cozy terraced-house hotel, lovely and quiet, in a typical British seaside town side street; our room was at the back of the hotel with a sea view peep to whet our appetites in the distance. Unlike many less scrupulous hotels, the owners don't use that as a selling point in their write ups, so it was a nice little bonus!

I would like to point out to drivers (see reviewer "508Chelsea") that, although there is no parking immediately outside the hotel, as is often the case in these little quiet British side street hotels, The Cremona does have an arrangement with another larger hotel, just minutes walk away, where you can leave your car for 24 hrs for only £5. This enabled us to stay a night and have a day on the beach into the bargain, without having to find expensive parking right down in town. We were able to park outside Cremona to unload our luggage, check in and take our stuff upstairs, then move our car within 10 mins. Martin even offered to lug our heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs (my husband declined though!)

The room was spotlessly clean, with a contemporary feel, a double and single bed ... very comfortable ... perfect for a weekend away ... not a single spot of mould in the fresh, spotlesslessoy clean smelling shower room, bedding crisp and clean (mint on pillow too!) and decor looked fresh. Our host was gracious, welcoming and helpful when we asked about evening restaurant recommendations and friendly. It was lovely to hear him enquiring (with a genuine smile and sincere interest) about how the guests had enjoyed their day/evenings at breakfast th following morning too.

It is so nice to find a place that ticks all the boxes for a gentle and quiet weekend away. Breakfast is served in a light, bright and again, spotlessly clean and contemporary room at the back of the hotel. With a selection of traditional Full English (very nicely cooked and presented), vegetarian, croissants and fresh fruit or Build Your Own Breakfast option as well as the more adventurous Shanghai or Kedgeree versions, I cannot recommend it highly enough. The onlymining "wrong" that I could find can be a treasure hunt for the rest of you checking this site: a spelling mistake on one of the notices in the bedroom!! Thank you Martin and the as yet un-met Jing. If we return to spend a day in Brighton, we will look no further.
