I recently had the misfortune to stay at the kensington hotel in bournemouth on a coach trip staying 4 nights in room 22 which was not a large room but was of adequate size.This hotel was typical of some (but not all)you find on coach trips being a bit tired and in need of some TLC.On arrival day my wife took a shower,put hair conditioner etc on and the shower packed up (tragedy)which took another two days to sort out with floorboards and carpets being lifted and us being kept out of our room for a time.The lady owner informed us of what was happening but offered no apology.The bathroom itself was small and the shower cubicle tiny.there was a three course evening dinner which was disappointing with most people starting with what was it soup followed by a child sized main course with roast potatoes and stuffing balls resembling golf balls,you had to queue for desserts which were dished out by the everpresent owner.I tried a bottle of the house red wine(£11-50)and it was awful,the label on the bottle said wine of the european community(UGH)other guests trying the the white wine found it unpleasent also.Everything at the kensington is done for cheapness from the food right down to the loo rolls.Although i only paid £200 for the four day coach trip I expected better.I heard that some rooms have been refurbished but mine was not.A plus point was that...More
