For me, it was one of the best hotels I ever was. Not only for the hotel itself but for the spa as well. The combination was perfect. The staff was very polite and friendly, the cleaning excellent, all worked fine. Just two little cons, first the hotel is a little far away from the town (but you have a bus station 50 m. from the hotel, not mentioning that always you can find a taxi in front of the hotel) and the second is that the rooms are too small. If you don't mind for these two, then I don't see any reason not to be happy in this place. The breakfast every morning was fabulous, everything was fresh and excellent prepared. 10+ for the Chef.
The spa is worth all the money, you have a swimming pool (aprox.15 m length), two sauna (one is Turkish, steam bath and another one dry). Also you can use the Gym, where they have all what you need to loose some extra pounds. The gym is one of the modern one I have used.
Another great thing is that inside, from the lobby you have a Starbucks Coffee and a Pub.

on arrival i was given a key card , proceeded to the second floor, walking along the corridor to my room couldnt beleive there on the corridor floor was not one but 2 obviously used breakfast trays outside 2 seperate rooms, this was at 8;00pm, first impressions.
the room was tidy , the bathroom floor had dirty shoeprints all over.
The restaurant is not open on a sunday night , pub snacks/food only.
There was also a company party going on at the time of arrival and you had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get into the door of the hotel as all the smokers gathered there instead of the smoking area.
The hotel was full of Power lifters taking part in some event in bournemouth, the term knuckle dragging football supporters comes to mind.
Breakfast, starts at 07:00 i was there for 07;30, the eggs where hard and tired looking, the baked beans had a skin over the top, the bacon was dry and hard, it cracked when trying to push a fork into it, the mushrooms where good, obviously tinned.
This was the low standard i came to expect during the 3 night stay and unfortunatley they failed to acheive this low standard frequently.
When presented with the bill i had to enquire over the 2 lunchtime drinks on my bill. as i was away from the hotel all day and did not order them, this was eventually rectified.
All in all a very tired and worn enviroment, the staff where pleasant.
Would i stay there again , NO, would i reccomend it to anyone NO, i would say it had all the charm of a premier inn with a much higher price tag and a less pleasing atmosphere.

Room Tip: go to another hotel

My Manager had booked a christmas party with the members of the gym for a festive get together for food and drink!

Having booked for the Disco Explosion my boss was talked into this Jamie Oliver night. It was the worst most boring thing ever...don;t get me wrong I love Jamie Oliver but this was not what I wanted to be doing at a christmas party watching Jamie cook a turkey on skpe!

On top of that it was sold as 3 course meal but only got 2 courses with the rudest manager and staff stating your not getting a starter you only paid £15 for this....well then why did you take our advanced orders for a starter????

To say the least the staff and the manager of that particular event were rude and unhelpful. If you like having your plate wipped away from you with your last mouthful just put in your mouth this is the place for you!

I would not recommend this place nor be going there again for an organised event!

And this is not just me that feels like this...it was all 40 ladies in our party!

We have stayed at the Village a number of times after sampling other hotels in Bournemouth and we wouldn't now stay anywhere else.
The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the staff are very obliging and helpful.
It is very good value for money especially with the use of the swimming pool and gym. Parking is easy and it is a short drive to Bournemouth and the beaches, or there is a very good bus service outside the hotel.
We stayed at the weekend and although it was full it did not affect the quality of service.

Room Tip: All rooms are of the same quality. The rooms at the back of the hotel tend to be quieter at night bu...

We came to the village hotel in Bournemouth in order to celebrate my mums 50th birthday. We just wanted to enjoy a few treatments and relax. Yet the experience was awful, firstly my mum is disabled and the lift was broken so we had to walk a fair bit to get upstairs, then their system had been playing up so they didn't have our booking. They were painting the treatment area so it looked an absolute mess, the reception staff were not particularly professional and we were given minimal options after their mess-up. We were repeatedly forced to go upstairs and down to get things like a robe which should have been offered straight away and after all that the treatments were at best mediocre. All in all it was an awful experience and I would NEVER pay to go back!

We stayed for a couple of days visiting family in the area and was our 2nd stay at this hotel. It is very conveniently located if you travel by car and plan to visit & shop in the surrounding area. Hotel itself is very good value in terms of room comfort and reception desk service. Pub and Starbucks also add a nice dynamic touch to the hotel. Excellent English breakfast and complimentary newspaper service. Rooms are OK for a family of four proving the children are not older than 8-9 as the extra bed is quite small. The hotel organizes parties and events so be sure to ask for a room of the higher floors to avoid potential disturbance in and outside the hotel (we were not impacted). Finally the Spa and large pool are really great so do make sure you make time for that.
