Public golf course great for dog walking with loads of woodland, lake and paths. New children's playground coming and nice bar with terrace.

a full 18 hole golf course but also a public park. facilities include a golf shop, ample parking a public face / bar with friendly staff, public toilets, Duck pond and soon to have a play area. there are also facilities for picnics, other ball sports, or just a gentle walk. For the golfer, the site is superbly kept by the green keepers. yes it has its bad days but don't we all? Drainage is good and after heavy rain / snow, the course is often the only one for 15 miles that is open. It is a local authority run course and pay and play is available at very reasonable rates. Be aware though - it is a park before it is a golf course and the public have full access to the course. occasionally there are disputes between golfers and dog walkers however with a little tolerance from both sides these can be avoided.

there is a cafe at ground level which is open from Easter to October .... at other times of the year, there is no disabled access to the upstairs cafe.

Queens Park was once a proud golf course in a fine condition, today it's tired and has been left to 'dog walkers'. I'm not saying the public should not use this park simply that perhaps the council should encourage better green keeping and perhaps the course will return to it's former glory. There are many better courses in the area.
