Just stayed there as a delegate at the TUC. The hotel reception was very efficient, and looked after my case after checking out. It was recommended that we left our keys when going out, which seemed a tad quaint.

The food in the restaurant was very nice, and the evening meal venue was varied and different. Breakfast was cooked to order and as well as the normal hot stuff, you could have kippers or poached haddock. I had kippers without the egg. Mmmmm.

My room was quite standard and was a back room looking towards the town centre. A friend had a room overlooking the front, and when she turned in (early) for the night she could not have her window open as there was too much noise from the outside seated area and smokers. My room though was good, nice and clean, serviced daily. The floorboards were really creaky, and I bet I annoyed the guy in the room below me! Wi-Fi was free but very hard to get a connection.

The bar was very busy, and seemed understaffed the first night. It was okay the rest of the time.

Overall though, very enjoyable. Would stay here again, and that's the important thing.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front may be noisy. Rooms at the back may have poor Wi-Fi. Decide which is most importa...

Great location very near to beach and Winter Gardens. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is plentiful and of good quality. Excellent food served in the 1812 resturant. Excellent size carpark. Very much looking forward to our next visit.

I currently go on business to Bournemouth every week and stay in hotels. I previously stayed in The Royal Bath but that is no longer. What a place the Royal Exeter is, the rooms are very clean and well equipped, there is a great restaurant on site, a fantastic and popular bar and plenty of car parking space. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, I really enjoy staying here and it is so reasonably priced. I can confidently recommend this hotel, every time.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in August. The location is perfect, only a 5 minute walk from both the town centre and the pier, and directly opposite the BIC.

The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was a good size with everthing you could need for a comfortable stay.

The breakfast is freshly prepared which was a real bonus, and the staff were efficient and friendly.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying there again.

Room Tip: If you stay for any length of time ask for a room at the front of the hotel.

Excellent location, nice terraces, clean and modern room, staff extremely attentive and helpful, superb breakfast and service. Restaurant - scallops superb - did not want the plate to end alas only 4 - superbly seasoned and presentation perfect , chicken for main. Perfect! Knowledgable staff on wine selection - great experience. Great hotel centrally located opposite BIC , near shops and gardens and the sea!

We spent three nights in this hotel from August 14th to 17th 2013.The staff were so helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very close to the gardens, beach and town with the added benefit of a free hotel car park. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room staff so friendly watched over and trained by a very professional dining room manager. Good value for money and we hope to return.

Booked for weekend trip following lots of positive reviews online and the hotel lived up to expectations. Great location for the Bournemouth International Centre and the Pier with plenty of free parking.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of recommendations for places to eat and drink. Room was average sized, but clean and in good condition. Didn't have time to use the gym or other facilities, but nice to have the option. Full English breakfast was also lovely and great value for money.

Attached to the hotel are a cocktail bar and club, both of which seemed popular. Both venues had music playing until late, but the location of our room meant this wasn't a problem.

Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.
