“Beautiful hotel and friendly staff!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

I stayed at this hotel with a large group of family for a wedding back in June and the hotel is beautiful. The location is stunning and the decor inside of the hotel is very traditional. I was taken aback by the sea view from this hotel and was the first thing I noticed!

The staff are really helpful and friendly! We traveled down to this hotel in a motor home and we had our German Shepherd with us. We asked the hotel if we could bring the dog to our room as she was becoming increasingly distressed and they agreed for an additional price of £10, much to our pleasant surprise! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff here and they were always happy to help!

We attended a wedding reception at this hotel and it was a fantastic day, waiters were brilliant always offering champagne, pimms and appetizers to guests, without having to get up and ask.

Our room was really nicely decorated even though we had a small room facing the car park it was decorated very homely and comfortably. Beds were perfectly comfortable, a good nights sleep! Bathroom was very clean, no problems at all!

Overall a lovely short stay at this hotel and would definitely return!

Room Tip: Sea view is stunning!

Great stay at the Mirimar whilst on a work trip. Very welcoming friendly helpful staff. Lovely large clean room. Beautiful gardens with great view out to sea and just a quick stroll across the road to the zig zag steps that lead down to the beach.

Here during the air show and it was amazing. The combination of hi tech planes and natural beauty from the hotel terrace was simply awesome. In spite of the hotel being full to the rafters(private parties and normal guests) the service was impeccable and the staff friendly and obliging. Surprised to read that see people had a bad time at the hotel as my experience was totally the reverse. It was a great highlight of the summer. Thank you guys and see you next year.

i would advise against anyone ever staying in this hotel..
Some of the most rude and unhelpful staff work there that i have ever had to deal with. The only saving grace amongst the staff was the Scottish barman who was very polite and helpful.
I would also advise people if they do stay at this hotel, not to have any drinks from the bar
unless you want to pay £4,00 for a can of cider. An example of their bad service was when I asked the receptionist if I could leave my bag somewhere safe for an hour or so the following morning after checkout and I was told in a very rude manner that they couldn't possibly look after my bag as they had lots more people coming. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

We visited here, but didnt stay, for the "Red Garden Party" , from the start the staffing levels were low ( 1 person on the bar everytime we tried to get a drink) we were seated outside (to be expected for a garden party) on cheap plastic chairs & with NO source of heat or light nearby as the evening set in. The "hog roast" was cold when we received it as was the jacket potato, and as previously mentioned as the natural light faded we couldnt see what we were eating.
We retreated indoors when the situation got too much, and the queues at the bar were very long.
Although the location of this hotel is good, its attention to detail when hosting an event leaves much to be desired.

Visited but didn't stay for a family wedding over August bank holiday, beautiful venue in a lovely setting backed up by the charismatic and comical young Aaron who worked like a dog all day with a smile on his face. The food and drink were faultless and the staff couldn't do enough to please , overall a really lovely wedding I would definitely recommend it.

Stayed one night as part of friends wedding. On arrival looking around at 42 I was younger than most of their visitors and there was a sense of stepping back in time. Some of the decor looked like it needed updating

The staff were very helpful especially the younger ones.
Breakfast was good. Lovely to have kippers.

the real plus of this hotel is the view. sitting outside there is a great view of the sea and you are only 5 minutes from Bournemouth's golden sands
