We went to the Miramar for Sunday lunch to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. There were 10 of us at the celebration ranging in age from 21 up to the birthday girl of 90. The 4 course lunch was amazing. I cannot eat 4 courses but had some of each and they were all wonderful. The service was certainly 4star although the hotel is only 3(i assume because there is no pool but the beach is opposite). We arrived early as mother wanted to sit out on the terrace and see the view. Lunch was served on time and there was never too long a wait between courses. After lunch we returned to the terrace/ garden and made use of the sun loungers as the weather was so hot and sunny. We felt we could have been abroad what with the sun, sea, palm trees and waiter service outside as well as in. Mother was so impressed that she intends to book a stay in the hotel as she now finds travelling further afield too much but likes to be waited on! Top marks Miramar.

We use the Hotel Miramar like our own friendly local. We have several events held there each year during the air festival in August. The service is always spot on food good quality and beautifully presented. The staff are the best thing about this hotel and the reason for it thriving in today's economic climate. Of course the view from the front is it's other main attraction and particularly during weddings which is why it is such a fabulous venue for all round occasions. They also have a smaller room called the Library which they use for smaller functions like 80ths or even funerals. Great to pop into after shopping for high tea or just plain and simple coffee with friends. Rooms also updated in recent times. Highly recommended, if only there was a hotel like this in every seaside resort !! They are now working on extending facilities to offer beauty products gym and pool - can't wait!

Room Tip: Rooms at front have wonderful seaside frontage.

defo not our choice as we only stayed here as a guest for a ladies weekend on a couple of events, and we also had our own small group as well.
NONE OF THOSE WE TOOK WAS IMPRESSED.
other than the look of the building was not impressed at all,
we requested an iron, gave us one with bare wires which i had to return to recp to replace, why give it to us in the first place.
breakfast never cooked to what we wanted undercooked egg, as was the bacon.
staff other than the breakfast lady gave the impression of dont want to help.
no facilities for children other than a garden, no other facilities for most adults.
this place is just a room and most not with a view.
its a lovely looking buildiing and if your lucky enough to have a view over the sea nice.
on one accation the hotel also had to cope with a wedding banquet this must have been difficult for them to handle as our banquet we attended ran on and on and on and on,,, far to long...
on one accation our room was sposed to be a double but was more like a single with a bed no stool or chair was most dissapointed when we asked to be relocated was told in no way...
recpt staff for our experience was not good.

the ONLY reason we stayed here was to support other peoples events other than that we will never return to this hotel and would never reccomend this hotel for others to stay in

Room Tip: only a sea view room

Only attended Hotel Miramar as a guest with about 50 others for a Chinese meal. It was specially arranged with bottled beers for tasting and then in to a large room for the meal. There werte "pickings" on the table and the staff were active serving drinks etc. The meal itself was magnificent. Plenty of staff on hand and the qual;ity was excellent. Although not on the sea fron, Hotel Miramar looks a good place to stay when in Bournemouth.

Room Tip: I would think on the front is best.

We stayed at the Hotel Miramar for a friend's wedding on Easter weekend and what a lovely setting it was!

The ceremony was held in the garden area, overlooking the sea and with the rain just about holding off it made for a very beautiful wedding! The meal was brilliant and I could not fault it at all, the staff very helpful and it was a lovely day throughout. I particularly liked that each part of the day was held in different rooms making for a change of scenery and perfect setting for both the ceremony, meal and evening party!

The rooms are nice and spacious with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The extra touch of the hotel leaving an easter egg in our rooms was also very nice, with lots of very happy looking children running round the next day after the easter bunny had visited!

Overall a very nice hotel with helpful staff and a good time had by all!

We had our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening  reception at the miramar on the 7th April 2012. The location was excellent enabling us to get married on the lawn looking over the sea. We then managed to get to the beach easily as the cliff lift is only 100 meter walk away. As a result we had some fantastic photos. We looked at about 15 hotels in Bournemouth and the miramar was head and shoulders above the rest.

We were awkward and wanted one large dinning table for our 40 guests. The hotel facilitated this and it looked brilliant.

The staff were very good, all polite, helpful and efficient to every request.

David Baily (hotel manager) met with us several times before the big day. He helped us plan every aspect of the iday and gave us some very useful advice to make the day run smoothly. Several of our suppliers told us that David is the best wedding organiser in Bournemouth. We can see why.

The evening reception worked really well. Our evening buffet was the sausages and burgers. These were excellent quality and there was loads of food left over after everyone had eaten.

All in all we had a fantastic day and we can highly recommend the hotel as a wedding venue. Our day was made perfect by the venue and it's staff.

Our pictures of this venue are online if you are planning a wedding you may want to have a look at them at http://www.byjason.eu/070412 these will show you what a lovely venue the miramar is.

This is my second visit to the Miramar. A traditional hotel with astonishing sea views looking across the front lawn. My refurbished room, 222, was on the second floor overlooked the rear lawn at the right hand side of the hotel. I experienced some slight noise from staff depositing rubbish in wheelie bins outside but nothing to disturb my night sleep. The mattress, however, was a little saggy and uncomfortable.

On my 3 night stay I noticed the hot water was tepid very early in the morning and at teatime despite running the tap for a while, but it was very hot by the evening. The tea tray was replenished daily, but I had to ask for extra milk as insufficient was supplied. The room was clean with a lovely warm bathroom due to the heated towel rail, although a little dark as there was no natural light.Very basic toiletries. Back up electric heater supplied a little antiquated and rusty. Breakfast was satisfactory. I would like to have had baked beans included as part of the standard 'Dorset' breakfast. Repetitive choice on table d' hote menu over the 3 night stay. Melon, prawns, lamb and the same selection of desserts which, although delicious, could be monotonous on a longer stay. The food was tasty and nicely presented, and served by mostly attentive staff.
