Super little venue with knowledgeable staff and very interesting history. Complimented by a small cafe which is not over priced.

Architecture, decoration, paintings, sculptures: the place is a treasure-chest I always visit when in Bournemouth, and so close to the other sights (behind the Royal Bath Hotel). And free, albeit there is a suggested donation.

This museum is like stepping into someones house in the past. You can see how this family lived and their travels are so vivid from their souvenirs. The riches they returned with. I spent a good 2 hours looking around and could have stayed longer.

This beautiful house is quite fascinating in itself, but the statues and artwork are breathtaking. Sympathetically displayed with enough information to satisfy rather than overwhelm. Stunning views from the windows and a gentle, free flowing meander through the rooms. Plenty of seating if you wish to sit and study a single picture. We were fortunate to have a display including faeries and angels as well as artwork from Terry Pratchett's Disc world books! Fabulous.

Cafe well worth visiting, but very busy so be prepared to wait at peak times. But food appeared all home cooked and delicious.
