We have just spent 5 days at the Savoy and could not fault it! The staff were friendly and although many were from other countries there command of the english language was very good. The meals were of a high standard witha good choice. The bedroom was spacious, very clean. We would recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the savoy for two nights with my friend and we had upgraded to a superior room with a balcony and a garden view, the room was very spacious and very clean. The breakfast was very good and hot,in the evening you had a choice from a menu and could pay a supplement if you wanted steak ect.. The service was to say the least very fast and you just finished your starter and you main meal came out but overall it eas ok. When we left the hotel we noticed some of the other hotel rooms were being cleaned and we noticed thet some of the rooms were terrible with shabby carpets and fixtures, the chambermaid told us that a few rooms at a time are being refurbished. I would advise thet you upgrade and check that the room has been refurbished as i dont think we would have enjoyed staying in the other rooms! Good walking distance into town for clubs ect and friendly staff

The four night stay we had at the Savoy was the second worst holiday we have ever had in the UK. The room which we had paid a premium for was in the roof space and was cramped ( my husband had to remember not to bang his head on the sloping ceiling when walking round the bed) It had a very tiny bathroom and the mattress was completely worn out, you could feel all the springs.
The food was the biggest disappointment, it was awful beyond description, unrecognisable veg, poor quality, overcooked, nearly cold, small servings ie one roast potato, served on salad plates not dinner plates, poorly presented etc, etc etc. Any pub can do better by far. We felt completely duped as we had booked the Savoy through the 'Coast and Country' brochure which looked very nice quality, high end hotels in nice positions. We were cross to find it is a Shearings hotel and even more cross as the very worst holiday ever was with Shearings 10 years ago at the Imperial in Tenby and we vowed never to book with them again! The pleasant staff and the good position near the cliff top promenade were the only redeeming features of what could be a lovely hotel.
